you constantly troll the posts wanting explanations about the problems we are now having with the server and the most used one is the shard cannot handle the people that are attempting to play, well it is 1:10 am est and I doubt that there are as many people on US and UK as 6pm est. So the real problem ls something else. I am a die hard trekkie growing up watching reruns of the TOS series and really want to play the game.3rd attempt to finish a chain quest, and am getting quit annoyed. Yes I do believe they should have pushed back the release date at lest 3 months until they got the "new" servers up and stable. The bugs ingame are one thing and can be expected, but the fail "new"server is yet another.

Obvious troll is obvious. Pipe down. We're still inside week one of the game's official launch and more server capacity is coming in the near future.

You can, but we still have at least 1 month of playtime** to try the product out.

** = supposedly, if the game is working at all

You really think that on a Friday night, when many people have the next two days off, and folks are just returning from a night out, etc; that some folks who have picked up the game, put the girlfriend, or wife and kids to bed AREN'T saying "Okay, lets give the game a whirl. And BTW at 6 PM EST; the vast majority of people on the West Coast is still at work, or coming home from school.

Now, when did we start seeing load issues? At about 7:30 PM PST (10:30 EST) - a time whe n a lot of people who aren't going out for the evening on the West Coast, would have time to get home, have dinner, and log in. You really think 6 PM EST is the 'prime time' for the server? LOL - Try 6 PM - 9 PM PST - (and extend that to Midnight on weekends).

Every time you start topics with words like FANBOY in title, don't expect any mature responses. Its quite obvious you just wan to play a little troublemaker.

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but any normal person who has played more than a handful of games at release can tell you the amount of downtime for this game is either on par or far better than what has been done in the last 8 or so years.

Want to see what real downtime is? Go play a Turdbine game or anything from Mythic these days or go try out a release by SOE. Three developers/publishers that have been at it for a long time and still fail on releases.

For one it is hard to justify to anyone on spending money on servers or anything else prior to launch and money being put in the bank from orders/pre-orders.You try and justify to the money people that x company needs y amount of servers and back up servers without being able to show with concrete numbers that are needed today.

Once upon a time this was not common practice and most companies had more than enough servers up and ready for release. It just is not done any longer and went south at about the same time customer service and developer interaction with the playerbases took a nosedive.

    Aye.

Hell, even the almighty WoW limped like a wounded dog for the first month of release. And they had a hell of a lot more downtime in 3 days than this. Add to that when the servers were up you couldnt really manage to do anything with the horrible lag and loot bugs.

So I guess all we can really say to the OP is 'Welcome to the wonderful world of MMO launches!'

it is not server capacity, its functionality.
