Seriously guys, give it a rest. I'd rather they bring the servers down to fix the problem, than leave them up with all that lag. You'll live. It is just a game.

They didn't bring down the servers. The servers crashed. Very different.

Shame when it's brought down then brought back up again, it only lasts for a fraction of the time they bring it down.

So, what "fixing" is going on? Cryptic doesn't say a peep on what they are doing during this downtime. They could care less really, notice none of them have posted on the forums tonight? Sure, they are busy, but the natives are getting restless...

Yea and every time the servers go down while people are not getting to use the product they just got done paying for the more it gives people a legitimate reason to complain. You'll live.

I wish... we could only have one thread going instead of flooding the entire forum with the same type of post over and over again. It's not like anyone is contributing anything new.

I know what you mean. The second the servers crashed I got on the forums to watch the idiots squabble, 6 identical posted started in less than a minute. Shakes head.

shikamaru317 I dont know whats worse, people complaining, or people like you complaining about the complaining.

I personally like to complain, i have the right to, they have my money, they arent delivering, first week or not.
They had since beta to get on the ball, they didnt, they failed. Its not about the bugs and what not, its about the lack of communication, the lack of server stablity and so on.

Also, i just down right hate ignorant morons like you. So, I complain on the forums to see people like you post something even dumber that what I complain about, and look, here you are. So, stfu, get a rope, go out back and play in the tree.
Yes, im an angry person, I like it that way, I dont like many people because people like you are in it. We want to complain, so leave us be, troll or not, stfu.

    Get your rope, go play.

Technically, I'm not complaining about the complaining. Just doing my job, smacking people upside the back of their heads when they need it. Trying to instill a bit of common sense in people.

Okay, so you payed $15 bucks to be able to play over the course of a month. How about a math problem? :)
How much of your $15 dollars is being wasted on server downtime? Let's be real and factual about this and give you a clear number to be able to quote in your legitimate complaint to Cryptic.

    24hrs X 30days = 720hrs of possible playtime / $15 = 2 cents per hour

For every hour of server downtime that you miss out on playing the game, Cryptic has collected 2 cents from you. And you're raising hell about it on the forums and wishing other people to go play in a tree with a rope or at least STFU? Over two damn pennies? You spent more than 2cents just in electricity to run your computer long enough to come rant on forums about the server being down. :)

You should get out more (and maybe even get a job and some sleep) if you have that much possible playtime. Apologists always excuse the failures, they are still failures.

I know...man all the whiners complaining about something they paid for...sheesh the nerve of these people. You guys are worse than all those Toyota people complaining their brakes don't work...so what if your breaks don't work...their working on it, everyone knows new cars take time before they get the brakes working...

Get a life dude, people have the right to complain for something they paid for.

As somebody said in this thread, you are losing 2 cents per hour they have the server down. Want me to mail you a few pennies? Downtime happens in MMOs. Get over it. Trust me, I'm a veteran of many MMOs. If you can't deal with a little downtime during launch week, a week that is known to be buggy in just about every MMO ever released, then you really shouldn't bother with any MMOs. Now if you like the game and want to see it succeed, I suggest you bide your time and support the devs. If you don't like the game and don't want to see it succeed, then leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The $70 that you spent was for the purchase of a Retail key code that maybe included some cardboard and paper.

First 30days are "free" with the purchase of the Retail Key. My math stands on the facts. Please try again.

I just learned how to do math on the forums so I'm going to try it out with this analogy. Say you pay 30k for your Toyota and you will own it for 6 years. So that is 5k a year. Now you could drive it each day 24 hours a day so that is nearly 60 cents an hour. So one penny per minute. So when your brakes don't work for one full minute during your drive to work it only costs you 1 cent. The brakes are working fine when you aren't driving why the complaining about a single penny?

I don't excuse failures. But I also don't accept irrationally, emotional postings as being "factual". What I was endeavoring to do was give the individual a little more context to think about by putting the cold, hard factual numbers right there.

Your attempts at trying to insult me indicate your willingness to be irrationally emotional instead of discussing an issue based on facts.

You are using an absurd "math problem" as an excuse for lack of access. Your belief that it is "factual" doesn't make it so (nor does my belief that it is "absurd"). You are creating a straw man as your only argument. In the words of those wacky kids today "epic fail".

You see what you want to see such that it supports your beliefs, I'll leave you to them.

It really surprised me looking in this thread. Obviously people will be annoyed at the erratic behaviour of Cryptic's game servers and have every right to be. If they want to complain THIS is the official game forum provided by Cryptic. Why then are there so many people defending the fact that the servers keep going down? I keep reading the same posts basically summing up that becasue the game has jus launched we shouldn't really expect to be able to play it whenever we like! What a load of rubbish! Some people are even saying that we should expect downtime with a new MMO! Oh please!

If you buy a product it should work from day one and you should be able to use it whenever you want. You shouldn't in this case be beholden to the game servers. We've been through closed and open beta, a bugged out head start weekend, and now a very dodgy launch. I like the game a lot but these issues need to disappear quickly.

If people want to complain about this they have every right. Nobody however has any right to tell us that we can't or shouldn't be complaining that a product purchased at retail isn't working as it should.

"OMG CRYPTIC! SERVER CRASHED, DO SOMETHING!"

"OMG CRYPTIC MAINTENANCE?!?! I PAY TO PLAY FFS!"

They just can't do anything right, can they?

These forums aren't for venting. They're for community discussion. People coming on here just to vent are being selfish and detrimental to the community's ability to discuss other topics.

If they have a service complaint, which is possible, then it should be taken to Cryptic by way of a ticket, email, or phone call. This forum in particular isn't for support issues. There's a series of forums farther down the list marked for Support, but even those are designed more for peer-to-peer help than customer/Cryptic support.

Creating a thread purely to vent is little more than baiting others, which is pointed out in the guidelines of being a possible forum rule violation.
