I've been trying to play this thing for the past week. Think i can? NO! Cryptic better give us some sort of cash incentive to keep us around, or those hugely populated servers are going BYE BYE.

You make it sound like there is more than 1 server. Unfortunatly there is not. There is only 1 server operating for all these players who are logging in, hence server crashing. Until multiple servers are provided (like COX has) we have to deal with this.

When you play an MMO at launch, you must expect these things. The only alternative is to wait 1-2 months after launch before buying it.

Thats the problem, its not servers. This weekend maybe it will be but what problems might that cause :)

Look no one apart from the lifers has paid much for the game yet, if you don't like it there are loads of well established MMO's that dont have server crashes (well not as often maybe). Asking for your money back??

    Entitlement craziness at its best!

Your first 30 days are free after all and it is the first week still, most MMOs don't get stable until like a full month has passed. It is unfortunate, though, that today it's been pretty unplayable. I do question the wisdom and logic behind the current server set up and wish they do more then just rush order additional units.

as momma always said you can want in one hand and TRIBBLE in the other and see which fills up faster.

No. When I pay for a game, I expect to be able to play it. There is no offline game. If Cryptic can't deliver the product as intended, they need to provide a credit for the downime.

This is not entitlement craziness; It is not unreasonable to expect to be able to use a product you pay for. I somehow doubt you would be this chipper about it if you bought a new car and it only let you drive for a random 20 minutes each day.

No they dont you sad sad misguided person.

Server was only down 20 minutes when it went about 2 hours ago.

Probably wont be down much longer than that.

You guys REALLY need to get over this and pull your thumb out of your mouth.

NOTE: Comparing an online game that is trying to test out its capacity for an EU release, fixing problems, updating servers, adding servers will have this...

IF they can never bring it down to do ANYTHING to the game..what will we have...

you guys need to REALLY shut the hell up. You sound like idiots.

Oh you crazy kids and your weird delluded ideas of self entitlement.

I remember when online gaming wasn't as popular as it is today, and wasn't filled with the "INSTANT GRATIFICATION CROWD.'

Ahh the good ol days... aww now I'm sad. The gamers now-a-days are just loud, obtuse, ignorant, wanting instant gratification with a 'the world owes me' complex.

I have been gaming a long time and I fully understand that the first week of any MMO launch is full of this type of stuff. That said, I find it odd when someone posts that they are frustrated that this game keeps crashing and the replies are basically saying, 'get over it'.

Have we, as consumers, just given up? Would you buy a new (insert product here) and expect it to not work? Would you buy a new wide screen tv and be satisfied that you can only watch it for 15 minutes a day and in those 15 minutes you dont get red or blue tones, just green. Hey by the logic of most here, its a new product, you should not expect to get full enjoyment from it for at least a month after you get it. Next time you go to work, take 5 unscheduled breaks and see if your boss thinks its OK and expected. Hell, just tell him that it should be expected and your best work will come in about a month or so!

All any of us is asking is, you said this product was ready, you tested and retested; you offered it to the public to play; just deliver on what you said. This isnt 5 or 10 years ago when MMO's were new and almost unheard of; this is 2010, and I for one, expected a bit more.

(So, to the flamers, and those that will rip this post apart in there best get over it fashion; UO, Anarchy Online, SWG, PoTBS, WoW, EVE, FE, and a list of F2P as well. Ive been through this TRIBBLE enough times not to get all heated over it. That doesnt mean I cant be a bit ****ed off that devs keep doing this to us and we are supposed to lie down and take it).

I wan't to be omnipotent, but I'll probably never get it. You don't see me crying about it. :p

I bought a download game on the PS Network, after downloading it and playing it, I thought it was terrible and deleted it to free up some space. Well, who's fault was it for buying it in the first place? I'll give you a clue, it wasn't PS Network. Lesson learned for me, but sadly, it probably never will be for those who feel the same as the OP.

I hate crappy games gone to release as much as the next man, but I know that getting all teary over server crashes at launch, is BEYOND stupid.

I think we have a whole new generation of xbox 360 Viva Pinata invading a$$holes that seem to think the world and every company owes them something.

I'm with the guy who thinks consumers have given up, and this post is a perfect example of it. The people being ****y about the server crashes don't necessarily think that the world and every company owes them something (some might, I'm not one of them), but I for one can safely say that for $50 Cryptic owes me more than 10 minutes of gameplay in the first 12 hours I own the game I purchased from them. I don't recall having to wait a month to play FFXI or WoW (although with wow first week was an adventure).

NO. The fools posting are ignorant, stupid, selfish or simply DONT know.

THe ignorant stupid selfish idiots have no excuse because they KNOW this TRIBBLE happens. Its going to happen at launch..they're fixing the game.

I dont mind the ones asking if this is normal, its the whiners who LIE and say they've played ALLLLLL sorts of MMO games without these problems.

    That is straight up BS.

If I dont think something is acceptable. I dont buy from them anymore. Simple.
I suppose some people dont understand this.

Most of the complainers on here vent because no one listens to them in real life and they get their nerd ego off by pouring tears into the forum.

NOTE: Someone already put it into a percent of what you're missing of your overall monthly play time, with these downtimes.

Its like saying that TWO fries were dropped on the floor when the McDonalds chic bagged your happy meal and you want to speak to the manager because you paid for those friends.

It sounds trivial. Scratch that..it IS trivial.

Hmm, thank you so much for proving my point.

From my post, I certainly wasnt "teary" but, to each his own. So by your logic, expecting a product to work when you first get it is BEYOND stupid? Wow, just, wow.

So, you think we have a generation of people that think the world owes them something? Im just asking ONE company to deliver on a product. I think they owe all of us who purchsed their product a reliable experience with it. It is so easy for you to just dismiss all this by saying its Beyond stupid why is that? Its beyond stupid to expect a product to work when you buy it? Really? Man, you are a salesman's dream! Can I sell you a new car? I PROMISE in about a month it might be what you expected but if not, hey its beyond stupid to get teary over small stuff!

While writing this response, I saw what you wrote to someone agreement with me. At no time did I say this hasnt happened in the past, but I guess Im just ignorant, stupid etc. What I said was, i expect more in the PRESENT from game developers. So, while you live in the past and drink the Kool-Aid, the rest of us will demand more in the presnt.

I agree with Mastaccolli... if a company is going to create a product, it should be ready to go when it is released. This is a star trek mmo.. They should realize how many people are going to run out and get it and be ready for it.. I can understand some glitches during launch. But loads of them.. isnt beta testing supposed to catch some of these problems? I havent had any 'problems' with playing yet as i havent gotten there yet.

I bought the game yesterday.. Downloaded it over night and got up to find out something happened and had to start again. So my pc spent the last 11 hours downloading the game again. I only get 200kb/s so it takes loads of time. I finally get the game downloaded and installed.. Great.. Time to activate my 30 days.. Get it done.. Log in.. 10 gig patch.. so in the last 16 hours i've downloaded the game twice.. 13gigs.. and now i have to download a 10 gig patch.. So there goes another 16 some hours downloading this patch.. And who knows if there is another one afterwards. And by looking at old threads this patch came out almost a montha go.. You'd think they would send an updated installer with most of the patches to the online retailers.
