What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Perhaps the solution is far less insidious!

The process of adding additional capacity (as previously announced) would quite possibly account for many of the strange occurences of the evening.
For example, me getting to the last group twice before someone decided to actually shut the server down....
My only greif is that since everyone sort of knew "realistically" that adding the new servers would have to impact the game somehow, at some point, "over the course of the weekend", then why not just say so? "hey, we are going to throttle back the login server", (i know you can do this, i was in beta) "while we add capacity", or shut down entirely, and take the heat. "sorry, we have to copy and patch so we end all this torment" but dont kite people along who are trying to Star Trek... man..

take care..

Unfortunately the company image changes once a game hits live. They can't expect your average Joe to understand.

And as much as the people were used to it in Beta, not everyone in Live was in Beta so they won't tolerate it.

MMO are one of the hardest games to make because it's a very large community constantly crying for different things to be either fix, added or simply simplified.

Forums are being filled of people who are speaking through their hats and never had to deal with a team of 20-50 devs and IT employees.

Cryptic is aware of the situation and with every downtime they risk the chance of losing money from someone canceling their account.

So why not make the forum a topic about something else that would actually be considered "fresh".

    Thanks
