Cryptic, I'm sure this was going to be a great game, but you rushed it. Fine, you made the site all nice and shiny. You made great graphics. But you promised a "big patch" after OB. What big patch? All I see it a few episodes, 20 repeatable missions, and one big server that crashes every ****ing second. I mean what the ****? You sucked us in with the CE, promises you can't keep, and a server that won't ****ing stay the **** up. I mean ****ing take a ****ing page from Blizzard's book! WoW had a smooth launch, a team of competent programmers, and a balanced PvE and PvP system. Plus, their's this thing called "game content". You know, like an expanding world and cool PvE scenarios. Take the time to work out glitches, figure out how to keep your server up, run beta twice as long to get more feed-back, and don't steal people's money! The universe expands at a rate of much faster than the speed of light, Cryptic. You've put us in a little bubble and let us play with a piece of ****.
Actually, this was a great game before the server went down. Just needed to get that all off my chest. Seriously, though, you really rushed the game.
Gee, isn't the complaining game fun? Not as much fun as ACTUALLY GETTING TO PLAY STO, but pretty fun.
These endless threads of our whining are helping no one. (Though they are passing the downtime nicely.) Honestly, if the guys from Cryptic had the time to read all of our complaints, we wouldn't have to complain. At present, I should hope they're busy trying to get us our game back.

Oh, its not whining. Its trolling and we have adopted a handful of the species, which have been doing it since closed beta. I think they must have only bought the game to keep getting the attention, as buying something you don't like isn't logical.
45 days after launch? That was smart. As I said, why didn't they just postpone launch...? DUH.
Because there was no need to? The game is perfectly playable and plenty are enjoying it. Although I'm highly disappointed we have to wait for Klingon PvE content.
Which downtime instance on the referenced date do you mean? Because on most days they've had multiple crashes and server downtimes, sometimes for as long as six hours!!!
Do please be more specific, so we can evaluate whether you deserve to play this game and post in the same forums with the rest of us fanbois!
lol...they STILL havn't updated the ship overview/specifications section. Very unprofessional...which is why they are VIDEO GAME PRODUCERS, and not quantum engineers or such...heh, can't have idiots like this in charge of anything too important. Oh, and the servers suck horribly...epic fail. I don't wanna hear any "Oh its only been out for a..." Go **** yourself, it shouldn't matter that it's the release. The server is the corner stone for any MMO, and they picked a crappy ( and instance-based) server setup. Its like using drum breaks on a drag car...it's going to crash. But eh...other than those basic complaints, I like it...and I'm stubborn enough to wait through the server issues...I hope.

Have you actually been playing? As there has been nowhere near that amount of crashes. Today is the first time they have crashed since the end of the head start.

You must be high off your TRIBBLE while the server is down if you actually expect anyone to believe this. WoW's servers were a joke at launch, sometimes down for DAYS and their PvE and PvP system were far from balanced.
Obviously I should never have posted this. As I said, I liked the game before I got kicked off the server, it's just I needed to blow off some steam. Next time I'll rant and then delete it so no one has to bear the eyesore. If you hate this thread so much, everyone kindly stop replying and it will die.
Have you read the freaking support forums? Have you read all the "unexpected downtime" or "server maintenance threads"?
You might not look so foolish if you had a clue what you were writing about before you put pen to paper, or digit to keyboard, as it were.
Some people are having connection problems, not server crashes. Not all are suffering. I've been playing a hell of a lot and had very few disconnects, just for example. I know plenty of other who have also been fine.
45 days after launch? That was smart. As I said, why didn't they just postpone launch...? DUH.
Because belive it or not there is a limit on how long you can hold onto a game before releasing it. At least this way we get to play it while they update it. Rushed? sure, they had their reasons if you kept up with the news about it, might look into it.

I don't mind ranting as long as they are legitimate issues or truths.
I have to agree with the originator of this thread.
I'm guessing there were huge financial pressures to get this game released..perhaps in an effort to make a dash for cash so that the poor devs and techies could actually be promised a further 6 months of dinner on the table to sort this game out. Sad thing is, it's this first fortnight that is going to sink or swim a MMO - take a look at Conan if you want a living example of how important a solid launch is to establish a 'warm fuzzy' with the player community.
While against trolling, I'm all for the customers being heard, and so I say - post away people, whinge loud and clear, force change!
Perhaps if Cryptic weren't so stingy with Closed Beta and actually gave things a few more weeks of testing, they would have sussed these issues out, rather thannow ****ing off a swarm of paying customers.
Ending on a positive note - being a new lifer subscriber to this game, I have the rest of my life to wait for Cryptic to stabilise the game and give me more content
Will you people ****ing stop replying and let the thread die? Currently it's at the top of the forums because you guys won't stop QQing about MY QQ. Shut up!

make a blog and rant, it works better and no one who looks at it will care, but yeah we all rant from time to time. As for getting server booted I think that happened to me once since launch (happened alot in beta) it may be a problem with your isp if your expirencing alot of this, you with Comcast by chance?

HAHAHAHAHA! Whoa... that'll have me laughing for weeks. Other than that though, you're right. This game is on life support until it has more content and variety. It isn't as bad as you make it sound, but it'll get old quickly.
Someone never played WoW at launch if they thought it went smoothly......
while wow had downtime during launch just like this game wow also had tons of content. during leveling there were multiple dungeons available and at max lvl there was brd, scholomance, stratholme, lower brs, and finally after u master lbrs you open ubrs.. hell even molten core/ony was there at release, although not well tuned and nobody had the gear to tackle the 1st spawn for at least 2months into the game.

If that made you laugh how about this:
"Working as Intended" which was there motto for the longest time.
jesus christ they must be more scared when the servers go down than frustrated, all the nerd rage really sets in and they get it in the face and up the TRIBBLE on the forums.
good thing we all dont live next door to them eh>?

The same people whining are the same people who are the sheeps in real life. You see them everyday. Places that snow a lot like Denver, Chicago, etc. people there never learn how to use chains or cables and end up crashing every year or abandoning their cars, places like Seattle where all winter it constantly rains yet they all act like they can't drive in it even though they have lived there for 30 years. People in places that "stock" up on stores because its projected to be a bit more windy then normal (yes windy). People who are educated by the news then spout it out like its fact (Europeans especially). These are the same people who whine about an MMO, like this is the first MMO ever! to experience issues.
Of COURSE it's rushed. Atari has no idea how to run MMOS. They screwed over DDO & now they are bending Cryptic's reputation over a barrel. I hope Cryptic is able to continue building this game to at least finished state so they can compete, but I'm not holding my breath.
Because there was no need to? The game is perfectly playable and plenty are enjoying it. Although I'm highly disappointed we have to wait for Klingon PvE content.
Sorry but its not perfectly playable. When I went into systems to explore with my team we were always thrown into different instances. Yexterday the loading was making the game unplayable for me. Mail was not working for me and my best friend yesterday (didn't try it today) Numerous other things that we submitted tickets for. It's a real mess.

Do you mean when the server went down on:
[*]January 29th?
[*]January 30th?
[*]January 31st?
[*]February 01?
[*]February 02?
[*]February 03?
[*]February 04?
[*]February 05?

Ask Atari.
Have you actually been playing? As there has been nowhere near that amount of crashes. Today is the first time they have crashed since the end of the head start.
I know this is an exageration as I'm only Lt Commander and have played at least that many different ones.
