Ok, ever since beta all I have heard is how unbalanced the Klingon side is because of cloak.
My answer is ..learn some tatics and learn how to PvP.
I just finished a 5v5 match where all 5 Klingon ships lined up to hit 1 Fed ship on the first strike.
Addmitedly to hopefully give us a 5 to4 advantage. I in particular alrady had @ attach, high yield torp and beam overload qued up. ALL 5 of us hit him and his shields didnt even come down.
Instead it turned into a turkey shoot..with the BoP's being the game birds. So how is this balanced??
The scales have been so heavily tipped that if the most of the Fed players wernt complete idiots. Klingons would never win a match. But wait Cryptic has covered that base as well. We actually get a mission to die x amount of times at the hands of another player! Well thats easy enough now.
I am sure that the primarly Fed players will now start whinning at this point.. or even better accusing me of whinning. But hey, Klingons are still waiting for a tier 2 cruiser. So go ahead babies...get us nerfed some more. Here's a suggestion how about a low yield anti-Klingon one shot torpedo with cloak seeking ability at tier 1.!!!
I hope they lower klingons hull, damage, and shields and take away their ability to cloak. This is after all a Star Trek game and Star trek is about the Federation. They always win.
the devs answer to the feds unbalancedly strong shields is a buff to klingon dps when we decloak, its coming soon. 3-4x damage on the first volley fired in the first few seconds of dropping cloak, stack a tac with alpha and omega patterns, beam overload and high yield, whammo, dead fed, so no more 4 guys focus healing the targeted 5th, now every bird picks 1 seperate target and we kill them all faster then they can spam reverse shield polarity  its going to be a good patch when it goes live.

NOOOO! say it aint so! Gosh darnit I paid good money to drool on the keyboard. This is unacceptable!
I tried my first Fed pvp last week, and playing as Fed, the Klingons owned the game. There was no way a T0 Fed player could compete against the Klingons. It was the exact opposite of Open Beta, where the Klingons didn't stand a chance at T0.
I realise you were talking about T1, and I'm curious as to whether or not Klingons have received the promised T1 cruiser yet.
I don't understand why its so difficult to balance pvp. I know there is still much that needs perfecting in this game, but pvp is very supposed to be very important in an MMO.

here's the problem.
Your initial "plan" is why klingons (and all assassin classes in other MMOs for that matter) are impossible to balance.
If you have the ability to take 5 (or more!) people and destroy an opposing player before they have a chance to respond, your immediate effect is an iwin button. ESPECIALLY if you can then re-cloak and repeat.
It's why all the griefers play assassins. In large scale fights, their powers are mediated by the fact that when they decloak, everyone pwns them back, but on small scale fights they have always (and will always) be an iwin button if they play with any competency.
I don't PVP, but all cloaking classes have the same problem. If they have the ability to kill someone before they can respond, you are bringing real-life mechanics (IE: if I stab you, you die) to an unrealistic model (IE, if I shoot you with a gun, you "take damage" rather than keel over screaming in pain).
Perhaps they went too far in the nerfing, but if you have the ability to reliably kill someone by decloaking 5 people and pew pewing them, then you need to have a SERIOUS off-set weakness...more than just being "extra squishy"

Well thats pretty arrogant and typical. Star Trek Online is about Star Trek. If it was souly about Star Fleet then it would have been Star Fleet Online and there would be no other playable factions.
Now to bring you up to speed...they tested that idea over a year ago, and found that there wa only limited ineterest. Once they added the idea of other playable factions, namely Klingons..interest went through the roof.
You obviously weren't on today playing in Tier 3 where 9 out of 10 team deathmatches I participated in were Klingon victories. I spent the day doing mostly PvP.
I'm adversarial enough as a engineer cruiser captain to try and find ways to compete. I am not a bad combattant. My opponents were also skilled. But there often was little to be done and it looked like an exercise in futility more than once.
I do have things I dislike. One is how once you suffer from Viral Matrix you are entirely helpless; I have Science Team II and I cannot use it to fix myself. Another is how klingons always hold the initiative thanks to their cloak, meaning I fight at thier convenience. I also don't like how Klingon battlecruisers are mostly better than their Federation counterparts. The stating power of K'T'inga being alphastriked looked much better than my Cheyenne's, and I'm very defensively oriented.
Do I mean this as a whine? No. This is to show you how you are not exclusively getting the short end of the stick.

Sounds good. /signed.
I believe that I just did
You can nerf cloak.
You can fix RSP.
Heck, you can even remove Viral Matrix.
But, I tell ya what folks...you can't fix stupid.
LOL! I
