Ok i understand that support middle managers like to look intelligent. So at times they'll try to communicate in a professional manner.
That said, slap the manager that wrote that in the index. it just redundantly states the obvious. you would never say "currently the star trek online server is down, but we are unaware of it." so you shouldn't say "the server is down and we are aware of it.
