Im just an old TRIBBLE and I sometimes have a hard time
locating things on this world wide web.... but I just cant seem to find
this "Planned Schedule" I keep hearing about. Im just wondering so I can
know when Im allowed to use this wonderful game I prepayed for so I can
be involved and inform myself of the privilege of actually being
allowed on these fine servers and participate in a constructive manner
and repeatedly enjoy the wonderful levels i was just about to complete
over and overs again. this is so fun, thank you Cryptic for the joy
you bring me every day

I do not think they really have a planned schedule.

By all appearances the people at Cryptic have hired the folks at Turdbine to run the servers. Meaning they should be down far more than they will ever be up. This stems from the fact they bought the servers they are using from Ebay for $49.99 a pop from some kid in China or Turdbine sold them the ones they bought from the kid in China.

In all fairness, they bought servers for a normal MMO launch. They didn't buy servers for "Every mother freaking star trek fan on the internet logging into the game at the same time".

When you get a million people trying to log in at once, it does very bad things, even to WoW's servers.

Whatever the excuse, I downloaded the game the day the beta started and have been granted the opportunity to play the game twice.

Star Trek is one of my very favorite stories.

    This "game" is a failure.

actually, the fact that it's been up this long is kind of amazing.

For launches, it's not so bad. Better then most imo.

Very true. In recent years many games have fallen flat on their faces with server crashes. I can remember when game developers/publishers were ready and waiting for this though. They hammered the **** out of login, account, subscription, etc servers the last week or so of open beta and had things pretty much ready to go.

When did I see it begin to fail? Somewhere between DAoC launch and CoH. I do not recall any major problems with DAoC but remember a boat load during CoH. SWG and EQ2 were between those but for the life of me I forget how those went.

I agree, this has been the smoothest MMO launch of any I have ever played, and I have played every MMO since Everquest beta in 1997. I haven't played every launch though, how was the launch of City of Heroes?

    It was pretty much craptastic.

    Server is up.
