Guys it would be really nice to be warned when the server is going to go down for maintenance all it takes is a wee notice says server closing down in 5 minutes. Was so close to having completed a mission and now i gotta start all over again!!!

Emergency Maintenance is Marketing speak for the server/software crashed. They have no idea when it is going to happen so they cant give us advance notice.

I don't think they had a choice. I was having all sorts of problems (transported into nowhere, ship invisible, system list missing) and then BOOM kicked out...

    sigh!

That Undergoing Maintenance thing is probably just a stock status that is used when the server goes down. It is likely that it was a crash, not an actual planned downtime.

Why do you think they call it "Unexpected Downtime", cause they have no idea it was going to crash till it happened.

Oh the pain of dealing with the plebe public. You see unless cryptic starts employing "betazoids" I don't hink they can sense their servers are about to "CRASH" and be able to warn you before it happens. Same goes when you have a car accident, you don't get your car saying "you're about to have a car accident prepare yourself to die".

Clear enough? I'm sick of these stupid posts. Oh well just another QQ. Hoped I made it clear why there's no warning.

There are two kinds of maintenance. Preventive and corrective.

When something breaks you perform corrective maintenance, which means that it is not necessarily a planned event.
