Seems this one's had a heart attack.

Seriously, this game's server instability will not earn you a recurring subscription past the first month from me.

New server hardware should be a priority, over everything else.

Truthfully, the game has been really stable this week. I'm not sure what you're so upset about.

They have already mentioned they are going to increase server capacity by end of this week. The news is on launcher, read it when it loads again.

I'm really glad you had awesome luck in having stable playtime everytime you've logged in, but I have yet to have a single stable play session since I started. Maybe I'm unlucky... but they have been having these server issues since early Open Beta, and I am still not able to play this game at a regular rate.

Maybe my schedule is just weird, but that would only be a minor inconvenience if this was only a rare occassion, instead of every single day.

As I said, if this isn't cleared up, it wont earn a sub. Right now, giving them time to fix it.

Some people around here are a little too forgiving, I think. Cryptic could have given them an 8 bit sidescroller and people would have praised it to the hills and still bought lifetime subscriptions.

Or more realistically, we just haven't had the same problems as the OP. I personally have been able to log on pretty much whenever I wanted to (besides during maintenence) and this is the first time since open beta that the server has crashed on me.

I haven't seen any server instability really that would warrant me to threaten a cancelled subscription. It's been fine really and nothing out of the ordinary during the first week of an MMO launch.

Yes we are forgiving, patient and mature, so we apologise if we offend you all. And OP read this link regarding your query for servers and what are they doing to make them more stable.

You're forgetting an important virtue in life... wisdom.

Such as, wisdom to know when you're being conned.. and the wisdom to call something what it is.

as far as i can see, this is the first actual "crash" since headtstart.

its a shame you've had problems, but you say you've had them since Open beta? there's a good chance that the problem is in the interface of your system and theirs.

have you tried looking on the technical forums for advice and tips? it could be there's a solution there, or people who can help you locate the cause of this.

for most people this week has been fine, no major crashes or connection issues, so it does tend to look like the problem is unique rather than widespread.

pop a post in the technical forums once the server's back up, see if someone can help, i wouldnt suggest doing it now because they'll be filled with "omg server down?" posts and it'll drop off the front few pages quickly.

best of luck to you on getting it sorted out

Don't be so paranoid. Its just a downtime. No one is trying to con you and me. Have a beer or something and relax. :D

    "It's just ___!"
That's the phrase I've been hearing the most since OB started.

The list of things that this game "is just" is getting to be quite unwieldy.

For the record, I'm relaxed. I'm not upset at all. I just like providing a different view here on these here internets.

there's also the wisdom of knowing when to speak but more importantly when NOT to speak.

and honestly, telling people their opinion of something is wrong because its not the same as your opinion is one of those times when its wise not to speak.

an honestly wise person has learnt that often the only way people will learn is from making their own mistakes, and nothing you can say can stop them from making them.

I'm not speaking of getting kicked... I'm speaking of the issue where the servers crash or come down for maintenance in some way shape or form every time I am attempting to play the game.

Most of my fleet were screwed completely out of our headstart because of the constant downtime during it.

It's a joke, because I got accused of it so much just for having criticisms about the game. Not to say I haven't trolled here before, but I prefer the humorous and obvious variety of trolling. :)

You have some really bad luck then. And constant downtime? Are you just being hyperbolic or playing a different game than I am? It's been very smooth for me throughout head start and into launch.

    nothing of the sort :)

just saying that telling people that buying this game or a lifetime sub to this game is a mistake is

    A - your opinion
B - their mistake to make if they so choose

not asking you to shut up, just found it funny you felt your comments were "wisdom". just wanted to counter them with some "wisdom" of my own.

if i wanted to tell you to shut up and be smart about it, i would have used a very different way :)

Every single day they've brought it down during my prime time for scheduled maintenance. I gave them that, because they have to have scheduled maintenance in SOMEONE'S prime time, since it's a worldwide game.

Today's Friday, and I finally get to play outside of my normal prime time, and the server goes down in flames.

Thing is, if it wasn't EVERY SINGLE DAY, I could live with it. In WoW, Tuesday always brought maintenance during my play time. I planned around it. I didn't complain, because itw as one day out of the week.

Just saying.. if they don't get this sorted out before my sub comes up, they wont earn it.

Sad thing is, I am a fanboy.
