The last mission I did was for Admiral T'nea on Starbase 39, are there any more?

I'm Lt. Commander VI, and the only missions I can find our patrolling sectors eliminating enemy signal contacts, explorations missions from Lt. Commander Grall, and fleet actions. Admiral T'nea is not even on my hail menu anymore, and Admiral Quinn tells me to see Sulu. These missions are boring. I want something in depth, instead of just fighting Klingons, Gorn, Orion, Nausicans and Klingons in space combat.

Will Quinn's missions update at some point?

    Welcome to the expanse!

Here is a great big hole of nothing but flying around trying to find something to do!

If you can squeak out a couple of levels, T'nea will have some more things for you to do but they dole them out very sparingly as far as I can tell. :)

This is discouraging. So basically, it's gonna be a flat out grind from here to Captain? Even beyond?

No, You've just got to space it out. The Exploration missions seem to have a cooldown time of 30 minutes. so I'll do one, do an episode or a patrol, then do another, maybe a defend sector block. You've just got to not do nothing but episodes/patrols if you want to not run out of things to do.

I didn't want to do anymore exploration missions at all. They're boring as hell. Oh well.

So in a game based on searching out new life and new civilizations while exploring the vastness of the galaxy, you're asking where to go for your next mission? And then the other posters are whining about grinding? This is sooo discouraging to me. :( Is there no hope for the STO community or the human race in general?

back on topic - If you've done all the Romulan area missions available to you, then I suggest repeating some of the Defend missions until hitting the next level (not rank) which might trigger more missions. You might even need to hit 18 / LCDR 8 to trigger more missions. OR, you could just wander on down to Cardassian space and fight the Commander level bad guys. :)

If the game were actually like what you just described, the word "grinding" wouldn't even come into it. Unfortunately, the bullet points of the game didn't translate too well into the reality of the gameplay. The story missions are great, but the patrols and explorations are just plain grinding. They're uninspired, slapped on, and generally boring to play once you've done enough of them.

does anyone actually do the missions that require delivering "whatever" to some planet?

I find that I never have those items in my inventory, so I havent bothered with them. Would there be any real perk to just going ahead to the nearest starbase and getting them from bank or vendor?

Seeking out new life and civilizations was the mission given to the Enterprise. The universe of Star Trek has many other facets, and some of those even larger than exploration.

    I've never done them.

I remember in open beta I'd happened by a lot of medical supplies that I thought were just trash, so I sold them. Then I did an exploration mission and the people wanted them... made me mad. Beyond that one time I've never had around what they ask for, let alone in my inventory at that moment.

One thing the exploration aspect of the game should really have is a larger scope. If I go someplace and they ask for supplies, that generated mission should offer a way to get them as well- maybe buying them from a nearby ship or procuring them from raiders. Having to go back to a starbase to acquire them isn't bad, but it shouldn't be only one of many options.

I hit the same wall. With the exploration missions being buggy as hell and over 3/4ths the time you can't complete them, I elected to skip them, doing only patrols and story missions. I screamed up to 24, and then ran out of missions. Am now 26 from Pvping, Secure the sectors, and fleet actions. From some one I spoke to at 28 that had the same problem said he hi the same wall at 25 and has been grinding since. Which let me tell you, I'm was excited to hear.

I keep 10-20 supplies in my cargo hold when I do those missions, just in case.

I haven't done any of these in release yet, but in OB if you had them in your bank, you could complete the mission... I never carried them around with me, just kept stocks of them in the bank...

During closed beta the Replicator had all of those Commodity items. You just created creating enough and "beamed" then down to the planet and completed the mission. Then they added add all of the food stuff objects, removed commodities from the Replicator moved then to drops and Commodity Vendors. And I went WTH? It's an incredibly stupid design decision. First no player is going to keep his inventory full of 10-20? diffrent items in the hope that he can complete one of those "Aid Planet" missions. Secondly in order to complete those "Aid Planet" missions you HAVE to have the commodities in your inventory. Otherwise you have to travel to find a Trader or Commodity Vendor to buy them. But does to a another huge design flaw, you can get back into the Exploration Mission instance to complete it. And that's beside the fact that Starships have REPLICATORS which can creating the very things the planet is asking for. DUH!!!!!

It the change was and is continues to be very, very stupid. The Closed Beta way it was setup work and it made sense. Why did they every change it? And I defy Cryptic to produce ONE instance of an Aid Planet mission being completed in Live.
