There are enough trekkies going to play this game to keep it alive and give you profit for years to come, so stop making star trek not star trek! This game has way too much underdveloped trek potential and you owe it to such loyal people and customers to give us a real star trek universe, not this half finished underdeveloped nonsense. You are just lucky people are so loyal to star trek and patient!

No they do not owe you anything. Why would you think that anyone in world owes anything to Star Trek fans?

How dare they try to make the game as welcoming as possible to everyone! They have the audacity to want this game to be successful? B@stards they are.

It might help to actually say what you want to see... Then people could, possibly, see where your coming from.

I have to agree somewhat. I think it's a little sad that, in its current state, the only thing holding up the game is the "Star Trek" IP. It would be great if it was a game that people wanted to play even if it wasn't titled "Star Trek *". It would be nice to have both a solid game and have that solid game under the umbrella of a good IP like Star Trek. I would like to say that it will be getting better over time and I'm sure that it will. Will it ever get to a point where I want to play it because it's a well written game and not just because it's "Star Trek"? Probably not. There are so many things that are disappointing at a base-level that I just don't think that's going to happen. It's to much. It's to big of a change. But I guess we just have to take what we get.

I'm personally not investing to much time into it so I'm not that disturbed. The thing that angers me the most is that I really view Star Trek as being a perfect match for an MMO. It's sad that a, what I would consider, proper MMO probably won't be developed for Star Trek for quite a while. This game has prevented anyone else from using the IP for quite some time. That's what I mourn the most. It might be another 10 years before another company has the rights to Star Trek. Just like SWG and SW:TOR, it might be a while. All we can do is do the best with what we are given I guess.

I say play it until you can't stand it anymore. There are many other great games out there. That's a good thing.

Yeah, stop catering to the masses and cater to me instead! I want my Trek and I want it the way I want it, not this stupid way that everyone else wants it. [/sarcasm]

Do you even read what you write before you post it? Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

Edit: Give them time. MMOs area always a work in progress. The game is not finished on release. There is most assuredly more to come. Have a little patience.

If you dont see that there is something inheriently wrong with that statement then discussion is pointless.

I am confused. Are people saying they are unhappy because there isn't a whole lot to do? Or are people unhappy because this game isn't Star Trek enough?

If it is the first one. Its just ridiculous to demand a game of this scale to have content equal to that of one that has been in live development for 3+ years.

If it is the second, then I think it even MORE ridiculous. We have the uniforms, and ships, and planets. Maybe in a year or so we will have decent interiors. What is it that isn't Star Trek enough for people? I'm a massive Trek fan and this game is amazing to me.

People have to understand there is a difference between watching a story unfold where a group of people comb through hundreds of pages of text for a treaty to save some colonists, and you doing that in a game. Its either not fun to do it, or its not fun to watch Machinima cut-scenes where you don't do anything.

I promise you that when they get around to adding more diplomatic missions you are going to see nothing but ignorant children QQing all over the forums about how stupid the missions are. How there isn't anything to DO; just run around reading text. About how Cryptic is wasting their time writing stupid books for them to read instead of adding "real man's content" and fixing bugs.
