Will you buy and play a klingon or ferengi?

I am wondering if many people will buy the additional races from the c-store and use them as their main. I would guess only a few people would want to play a Ferengi primarily, and for Klingons you can simply play on the KDF side.

Personally? No. But I know a few people that would. Especially RPers, who enjoy playing the role of the race, not just the profession.

And Klingon Federation is a far different thing from Klingon Empire.

I did. I haven't played one yet, but I bought them. I don't look forward to having to start over just yet.

I think ferengi are pretty cool just not if you're going to play girl.

I have an odd desire to play a Tactical Ferengi Captain who is assigned to Science Vessels.

I look forward to this experiment...

    :D

I have not yet, and probably never will buy the Ferengi race, but if I decide I want to play a Klingon I am far more likely to buy it and play Federation than go to the PvP-based Klingon side.

Eh, I wouldn't have played either if they were free so there isn't much chance I'll pay for them.

Possibly in the future, but for the moment I'm gonna go through the other races I have available.

Hmm, so what race would you most defenitely buy if it cost 250 CP (except romulans which I guess will be available at some point)? Is there one? Something thats really popular from the shows? I can't actually think of any race that we don't have that played a big role in the shows. Well maybe the Cardassians.

The only race I really care about one way or the other are the Betazoid, and they were already in. If they weren't, I would have probably bought them.

Yes, I bought and rolled a Fed Klingon today.

Well.. I didn't really buy it.. I just claimed it with some of my free points, but yeah.

I know all the Klingon players are muttering under their breath and calling us traitors for doing so, and they're right. They seem to desperately need more players on their "side" at the moment. It does seem kind of wrong to roll a Klingon on the Fed side, but oh well.

If they add Romulans, I will buy it and play one exclusively, but only if they have some manner of PvE content.

    No.

A- I like Ferengi less than I like Bajorans.

B- The psychic damage of having my Klingon Federation captain being forced to Slaughter my own people would simply be too much for me to endure.

    Cheers!

I bought the Kligon Fed character. The ferengi ones are too creey looking for me. They remind me too much of my ex-wife... ;)

Myself, not personally. Then again, I made an "Alien" that looks human and gave him the traits I wanted. Nothing about the pre-set Ferengi or Kilngon traits wowed me (or any of the other species for that matter).

I do have a buddy who is seriously considering rerolling Ferengi. He already has an all-Ferengi bridge crew.

I got no CP points after spending $320 on this game already. So, no, I won't be. If I got CP points to get them, yea, I probably would. Pay even more for them? Nope.

Gotta get a naked patch for STO so the Ferengi can have unclothed female BOs though

Maybe in the future, but not now.

Take a look at the prices on the exchange. It looks like a large number of people are role-playing Ferengi right now!

I would probably buy a cardassian or a jem'hadar but I don't even play a klingon on the klingon side(lethean ftw) and the ferengi don't have anything interesting going with thier traits. Maybe if they had some sort of barter trait that gave a discount at vendors or something.

i got free 500 cryptic points but i am in no mood to buy ferengi or Klingon. However if i had to play Klingon i would roll one on Klingon side which is already in game.

Already did. It turned out I had the exact amount of Cryptic points left over from when I played Champions Online!

Even if I were interested, I wouldn't on principle because Cryptic claimed Ferengi were withdrawn from Beta due to graphic issues rather than for separate sale.

That's so shady. It's too bad they're rolling in money from this launch, because it's only going to encourage them to keep doing BS like that.

You do realize that removing it from beta to fix graphical issues and making it paid content in the live version are not mutually exclusive, right? Both things can be true at the same time.

It still rubs me the wrong way, and I'm not interested in them anyway.

I quite happily paid for the Joined Trill (among other things in the DDE which have yet to be properly implemented *coughcough*) and the Liberated Borg in a way. But those were never presented as anything but 'extras'; Ferengi were one of the Federation defaults in beta.

I'm a sucker:p I buy MOST add ons, etc. I had a Ferengi BO during BETA. I was never fond of them in any of the series as they just look creepy to me, but it was pretty cool seeing him run around with my other BO's. When and if they turn voices back on, i wouldn't give them one. Mine was a tactical officer and having him yell "CAPTAIN" in that creepy Ferengi voice everytime I entered a system, got annoying after awhile.

I thought it was absolutely appropos that Ferengi are a pay-to-play class. First rule of Acquisition: Once you have their money, never give it back!
