Frame rate issues

So, I type in /showfps and /maxfps and I see 0.00 for both, which I understand is bad. Then, I type /maxfps 60, then /maxfps, in which case I see 60.00. Now, here is where I get confused. After the /maxfps command, I type /showfps again and I see 0.00. Is there a way maybe get the actual fps to show?

Also, my video card fan sounds very angry when I play, I can only assume this is due to this fps nonsense.

Any help would be appreciated, as I have had a ticket open on this issue for the last 10 days.

/showfps and /maxfps need a modifier. If you type them as-is, you will return a default value as you havent typed the command correctly.

The correct commands are:- /showfps 1 and /maxfps (max number of fps)

to turn showfps off, just change the 1 for a 0

A-ha! That makes sense. I'll try it tonight. Thank you.
