If they are using a 10 day trial account, create a section of the forums for them. Then once the individuals are playing for a subscription, open their access to the rest of the forums.

I am not currently subscribing to the game and I have yet to post anything. I am trying to determine if I want to buy the game and I would imagine that I am not the only one doing this. I know that there are a lot of trolls out there, but I do not agree that it is a good idea to cut off potential subscribers because of them.
I would suggest that there should be a post limit for non-subscribers instead.
Lifers are not paying for the game... I know you mean the trolls that sign up just to flame and start trouble though.
And I agree.
there needs to be a lot more cracking down on the trouble makers. right now we have trolls posting to people who ask about the game telling them not to get it, instead we should be promoting them to try it out. ( time trials del codes) there is a person I was chatting with yesterday who wanted to know about the game. I told him I would go over today, and get him a del taco code. let him try it out on his own.

You can still read the posts, you just arent allowed to post in the paid sub portion of the forums. That is what we are suggesting.
You dont need to be able to post to be able to determine a game from the forums.
the forums really do need sorting out in this respect.
any non-activated account with no playtime left on it should be unable to post, those who have their 30 days free time should be ok to post, until that time is up, those on trials should be able to post while the trial is active, but not before and not after unless they fully subscribe.
there SHOULD be a section where those who are not subscribed can post, so people interested in the game can ask questions and recieve answers, but this section should be heavily moderated to help cut down the troll posts.
I for one am fairly fed up with people who are dissallusioned with this game for whatever reason derailling threads asking for advice on game related issues by dragging up whatever their personal grief is, or bumping their own threads with "sock puppet" accounts.
the game's live, if its not for you thats fine, but please leave the forums alone for those of us who are still playing or planning to play to organise and deal with actual in-game topics.
Lifers do not pay for the game, they paid for the game... in other words they dont pay for a subscription. Perhaps I should have said they arent paying for it...

Well the whole post in the OP was worded funny. Non-paying Subscribers? The only non-paying subscribers are lifers.
Subscribers pay for the game. 10 day trial members do not subscribe.
Not everyone who hasn't subscribed is a troll or fanboi. Some of us haven't picked up our copies for one reason or another, and still have meaningful posts and discussions.

I believe what you are looking for is the fact that lifers would still get access to the forums regardless of whether or not they are paying on periodic basis. No need to argue here.
I thought this was the consensus on how the forums worked.
although it would be amazing if you lost your ability to post the second you canceled recurring subscription. No more quitting/Icanhasyourstuff threads!

Sorry, the first post suggested closing the forum to non-subscribers, I took that as meaning not allowing them access at all.
Totally disagree, they should be restricted from all access to the forums. Right now we are being spammed constantly by gold farmers. Those guys could be shut down if you restrict the forums to only subscribers. It would also cut down on a lot of the unnecessary traffic.

I agree with this.
I agree with this.
I fully agree with this.
So you can sort out the people who are not paying for the game, therefore should have no voice on where the game should go.
Also, people who are not paying for the game but are on the game's forums tend to be trolls/doomsayers that have nothing constructive to say.
And I agree.
AGREED!!!!

I support this whole-heartedly.
That's not true. Think of lifers as people who subscribed to 2 years ahead of time.

or, what about some prospective player who wants to ask legit questions that they didn't find via the search function?
