I just wanted to post a link to a forum thread that has made me laugh more than any other thread I have seen on any forum ever.
http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=103822
This thread is amazing. It really says a lot about the way people in MMOs communicate nowadays, the heat, the passion of these arguments is amazing! It's almost like the colour of these effects is affecting these people IRL ways. How easily these people resort to insults as a method of trying to get their point over though! I am personally amazed that people can find it in them-selves to get so worked up about this.
I played WoW before this game and the environment was similar on their forums. People really HATEHATING each other verbally. What is it about MMOs that make people this passionate?
Finally i wanted to say, I do not want this thread to be a continuation of that thread ....
and also that i find this comment from the thread extremely funny:
"Something the pvp min/maxers always forget in their quest to be Nerd King."

Deep breaths, people.
Also, it's not MMO's that make people hate each other this passionately. It's the Internet.
Yes, it's the internet in general. MMO's happen to be on the internet, so the same applies, it would seem.

Nah... I hated everyone passionately long before I ever experienced the internet.
In conclusion; some humans = nasty pieces of work tbh. The referred to thread shows a marginalised part of human society admittedly, but the scale of the behaviour, even if only boosted by the anonymity of the net is still unacceptable. It is like drunken behaviour in fact, the lowering of your inhibitions to the stage where you become less than human, Sub-human in fact. But without the intelligence and cognitive loss you get with drunkeness, which keeps the insults all the more horrible because they have been thought of for 5 plus minutes before posting!
Lol, thanks for that comment. made my day
