Applied Retail Key But Didn't Get Your Preorder Item? Read This

Cryptic had said that preorder exclusives were tied to the retail key. Apparently, some of the retailers have been sending out separate keys for the preorder exclusives.

Here are some simple steps to ensure you receive your preorder exclusives:
  1. Enter all keys you have received here: http://www.startrekonline.com/activate

For DDE customers, this is provided in e-mail or at the point of download on their web site. Steam customers should right-click their STO game/download to find the key. Key should be recognized on site as 'Digital Deluxe'.

For some hard copy retailers, this means the key on the back of your game manual (recognized on site as 'Retail'), and the key on the back of the 'Exclusive Deep Space Nine Uniform Set' paper (recognized on site as 'Gold Edition').

  2. Check the C-Store in-game for your special items.

If you were already logged in when you applied these keys, log out and log back in. The C-Store can be found by clicking the down-arrow next to your minimap. Click the Special Unlocks tab. Double-click on each item found there, and then go into your Inventory (I) and double-click them there to apply them.

Some items might not have icons, only slightly coloured slots in your Inventory. Be sure to double-click the first few empty-looking slots in your Inventory. Mouseover everything.

  3. If you have not found your promised preorder items in game, check your e-mail.

Some retailers are also sending separate keys for their preorder exclusive items, in a separate e-mail. I personally found this to be the case for Play.com and Amazon.co.uk.

If you have not received an e-mail from your retailer with this additional key, contact them (phone call is highly recommended) and they will e-mail it to you immediately.

Once you have this additional key, apply it on this site (recognized as 'In game items'). Log out and log back into the game, and check your C-Store.

If after all these steps you still have not received your promised preorder items, or you never received your keys, or you never received a delivery, then:

A small bump for those that haven't tried it.

I mailed Atari (before this post, I might add :P ) and it turned out that Atari had tried sending the mail a couple of times, but somehow I never received it. I then mailed them a new email address and it worked.

I can finally create my Joined Trill. :D

Edit: I bought the DDE version from Atari.com BTW.
