Ok, fisrt of all i find the download on the website and download for like 2 hours. Try and start game and of course it dont work, need key to activate. So in order to get key must purchase copy. (why download link then?)
Goto gamestop.com and try and purchase download copy of game. Place all info in says error prossecing credit card, did it agian - error. goto bank website to find out been billed twice and no download. Contact gamestop, they have know CS # for company must email (24-48hr response time)
Seroius, i mean what is this...ive been a wow customer for more than a year and tried others as well, never having to purchase the game to even check it out, download always free then pay month to month. So in order to even try this game out it will cost me $65.00 and upto 48hr to even get in to see if i like it and even if i say forget it i dont want the game, i must wait upto 72hrs for them to refund my double billed purchases.
nope, gamestop says they dont hadle billing, they just use their website for sales, and according to my bank stamement this is true as gamestop is not the one that double billed me

Gamestop does all the billing. They are a seperate retailer then Atari - Gamestop is a chain store not a billing front for Cryptic. Atari has nothing to do with Gamestop.
I also purchased from Gamestop. This is what my CC statement states:
2/1/2010 GAMESTOP.COM/EBGAMES.COM 817-422-XXXX TX $84.99
You see nothing about Atari/Cryptic there, do you?
all other orders ive place have said gamestop on the staement, this was done by a company abb TMA, who is the company that procceses these orders.but doesnt really matter who, point is im out $110.00 and have no product and is a very bad way to start off a potential relationship with cryptic as no matter who, im already turned off on the whoile idea of the game. Im sure anybody else in my shoes would not be very happy about this.
Yes but why are you blaming Cryptic for this? all you have to do is call customer service and chew their brain till you get your money back. I never trust Game stop any ways, my experience with them is not good. I prefer to get digital editions from Direct2drive. Its easier and faster and customer service rocks.
I think for the download only version from Gamestop, its actually Trymedia that does the billing. Either way, its not Atari/Cryptic behind this screwup.

Lol, you don't remember having to pay for your retail key for WoW? If you mean a trial/demo key, STO doesn't have one out yet. Few mmos have them out at launch. The download is free, you just can't play.

When you buy a Skil Power Tool at Sears do you go to the Skill webpage and demand they fix your purchase problem or do you go back to Sears to get it fixed? You go to Sears to get the problem solved.
In this scenario Sears is Gamestop and Cryptic is Skil. Cryptic made the product. They didn't mess up your billing. Gamestop did.
I understand your frustrated but this wasn't Cryptic's fault.
TMA is Trymedia, the company that handles digital download sales for Gamestop. You need to contact them directly for your billing issues. As far as the download link on the Star Trek website it was there from Open Beta and for those who bought the Digital Deluxe from Atari. Best of luck but blame Trymedia and gamestop not Cryptic.
i did order the digital, that would most likley be the difference in billing statements. Im just upset that ive been billed twice for something i dont even have and im not getting. If i could call cs i would. no # must wait for email response.

Its ok, in future just use Direct2drive or STEAM. A lot better then Game Stop.
Rofl this absolutely nothing to do with Cryptic!
Go to a shop and buy it if you having a problem buying from a particualr website.
And what are you talking about, "why download link then?" You expect to download the game and start playing or something? Without a key ?

First of all yes, i expect a game like this to be able to download and then setup a subcription to play. Doesnt matter whos fault it is, If any of you was out $110 for nothing would be upset to. Dont even respond anymore as im going to get my money back and stick with what i play already, your sarcastic, smart TRIBBLE responses have put me off completly.
I'm still trying to find "all" the smartass comments you were complaining about. Seems to me the good folks here told you something you didn't want to hear. Sorry you got hosed, it's happened to me before, but to blame the developers for a 3rd party billing issue is ridiculous. BTW, I don't think I've ever played an MMO where the game itself was FREE with only a subscription to set up beyond that. Good luck.

For digital downloads, Steam or Direct2Drive is the way to go. I tried doing the digital download from Gamestop and had similar problems. Gamestop is great for everything else though. Just stay away from digital downloads heh.

Dude you cannot be out of pocket for $110 if you have not got what you paid for, just take it easy. You will get your money back. And dont let people on the Internet get to you like that we may be complete aholes for all you know!

Step 1) Contact your bank... Cancel the Transactions
Step 2) a) For Digital (Instant) copy of the game, purchase from a trust-worthy digital retailer.
Personally I would recommend Valve's Steam platform for Digital Purchases, as Steam also provides additional aspects while playing such-as an Online Friend List, In-Game Chat and Messaging that is fully supported by the game developers. (In-fact despite purchasing via Direct2Drive for specific Delux Edition bonuses, since release I have downloaded and run STO via Steam because of it's additional features)
2) b) Go outside, pick up a physical boxed copy of the game handing over your money to someone who is physically in-front of you. That way you won't get ripped off again by an online system.
3) Play the game
See in 3 easy steps you too can be playing STO without complaining about the company who developed the game and literally have nothing to do with anything except subscriptions.
This said, did you try purchasing a month subscription to the game? Just a question as most MMOs you don't physically have to purchase them but simply subscribe. Might've been an easier solution.

This is how I know your trolling. Read the bold, if you think this forum is worse then WoW's, your trolling. WoW is kinda like 4chan, minus the life ruining. Ask a simple question on the WoW forum, it turns into a forest fire.

Just tell your bank to reject those payments.
