Throughout Star Trek the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and various books a reoccurring character known only as 'Q' has shown us that his race known only as The Q has a near unlimited power allowing them to transfer objects (including them selves) of any kind to any where or any time, to create anything, any where at any time or turn something into anything else, any where at any time and also to destroy anything, any where at any time or turn something into nothing, any where at any time all done with a simple thought.
It would obviously be a bad idea to give this kind of power to a player and if it was given to a player, the programming involved in giving the player the power of Q would be beyond any current programmers ability, in my opinion. I do believe however that the Devs could possibly play the role of a Q during special events.
Please let me and everyone else, especially the Devs know what you think of this idea.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

We will be getting a mission involving Q, but I know that's not what you're after.
I have mentioned this in the thread which is archived and linked above, this is not exactly what I'm after, but it's a very good start.
If they're fixing problems make them Travellers, hoping through the timeline, correcting problems with people.
If they're running GM events they can be Q, having a little fun with the lesser races confined ot their primative mortal shells.
Briliant, could not have put it better myself, great idea!
I still do and even though this thread is old and my original was archived, I thought I would dig it up so you could have a look.
I think that would be a given, but it would be fun.
Just out of curiousity, how exactly would you envision this scenerio working?
For regular GM duties in game, have them ham it up a little when granting player requests. IE player gets stuck in bug in "Trapped", they cannot move their ship and cannot leave the instance. So they call for a GM's help. Q arrives and grants them their request in his arrogant fashion then goes on his merry way to his next "mon capitan".
It will just add a little bit of immersion really.
Given the attitude of the marketing department of the Cryptic Cybernetics Corporation. No.
