Not only do we get abnormally long load times in time we could be playing, now Cryptic is so utterly careless that downtime is extended at least another hour.

This European life time subscriber says: Thanks Cryptic, we really appreciate your care for us.

As I posted somewhere else the ironic thing is there are more subscribers to this game from Europe than there are from America

Why do you make topics crying about everything? If you don't like it don't play a game based out of North America.

I sit in Europe as well, I've nothing to do right now, I'm a lifetime subscriber, and I whine thrice as less as you (if ever..). How come?

Well...IF they have to work on the server then they have to do this. I cant be offended by that. Everything they fix now will gie us a smoother gameplay in the future, so just be patient. I think you can handle the fact of beeing another ONE little hour absent from the game.:D

It's easy for trolls who aren't affected by the situation to criticise, isn't it?

Yes, making one topic about the whole thing is whining.
Also the irony of you constantly whining about the whiners is not lost on me.

Scot, Brit and European here and I have no issue with the current down times - I'm at work during the day anyway. The fact is you can't have a downtime that pleases everyone!

Honestly, whining is old, its a god dang US based company - if you want a single server game that wont be down during your "play time' then buy eu made games - there are several (crappy) and some good ones to choose from.

That said, the assumption that there are more EU players than US players is hilarious - care to prove your point? (if its based on whine posts, then surely you've won!)

    same here.

    People forgett a few things.

    1. the game has recently lunched, meaning stability fixes, bug fixes etc.
    2. the downtimes will be less in the coming weeks as the game is getting more stable.

if you have a problem with these, then i suggest you stay away from the game for a month or two.

Im in europe myself and the downtime is needed.
Just becouse it falls during the middle of the day for us does not mean cryptic employees want to stay at work all day.

Also, the dt is during hours when most should be at work/school etc.
and not during the normal game hours when people are at home and ready to play.

I've seen you in multiple threads pointing fingers, calling people trolls, and inciting flaming. Irony?

The point is that people in Europe are most likely to be at work/school during the hours of the downtime. It's about appealing to the majority of people. Unfortunately that means the minority suffers, but they can't please everyone. (and some people make it a point to be displeased and complain, it would seem.)

I'm sorry are people so dull that when I say "extra hour of downtime" you think I mean "one hour of downtime" when it'd total up to 3 hours?

ok i'll admit i've not read all 11 or so pages of this oh so familiar complaint

I'm in the UK, i work 3pm GMT to midnight GMT, and like to game a little before i go in, so this is actually in a "prime time" for me.

but i'm not here to complain about it, because i'm also a champions online player and they had almost daily maintenance at launch in the same time period.

here's a little bit of information we learned over there about why the server maintenance WILL be at this time.

Cryptic HQ is on the west coast, but their servers are on the EAST COAST, near Boston. that time zone is GMT -5 meaning maintenance starts at 6am for the people actually with the servers. it lasts for 2 hours so that the majority of the staff at that office ARRIVE AT WORK as they're coming back up, meaning if there's serious issues or some kinda major problem (i'm looking at you Dr Newbton, you know who you are :p ) then the vast majority of the staff are ON HAND TO FIX IT IMMEDIATELY

it messes up us EU lunchtime gamers, and does unmentionable things to the PRIMETIME gaming in the pacific timezones, but the slot was picked to have as little impact as possible and provide as much cover in terms of "hands on deck" as possible.

it wont be "rotated through the timezones" and i doubt it'll change. Daily maintenance is a side effect of launch, in a month or two it'll be weekly.

as mentioned in ANOTHER THREAD kthxbai

Patching at midday is hardly peak time, far from it, i think it is even better deal then the US are getting (3am).
And 1 hour a day is nothing. I doubt this will continue once the game is stable.
And finally they have to patch at some time, and will affect some people so sorry, but get over it already.

He/She actually has a point though. The current downtime schedule is mid-afternoon or later in Europe. If a Euro player has an early morning or night job this means that either sleep or work gets in the way of playing when the servers would normally be operating perfectly for them.

As for the load times, that's also crappy. Imagine trying to log into a new fleet action. If the load time is long you may miss the entire thing and are then stuck for 5 minutes doing nothing (because you're afraid to load out and miss another one) while waiting for the fleet action to reset.

Cryptic's current serverless idea isn't bad (as it solves some problems of low populations) but it sucks for people in different areas outside of the U.S (are even more specifically, the West Coast)

Because you apparently don't get Cryptic's firm stand on 1-server-Structure-PERIOD.

You and others continually choose to voice the same opinion over and over and over and over and over again, to absolutely no avail, since Cryptic said their 1-Server-Structure is final, PERIOD. There's no discussion about that.

But again, you and other seemingly choose to ignore the fact and continue to voice your opinion. You're just filling the forum with junk, I'm sorry to be frank.

I guarantee you if the downtime were during similar hours in the U.S. people would be complaining, so why can't I?
