Who are the Widrab?

I've encountered this species in the Haromi Cluster but I can't find any information on them anywhere (like the internet). Are they a Cryptic-created species? If so, there should be some more in-game information about their culture and motives.

Anyone else run into them?

Sounds ike one of the custom/rndom species; I encounter them all the time. my last first contact was with the T´Lonians - I keep saving the from Nausicaans, Gorn and diverse non-canon species; they seem to be quite unpopular overall... :p

The Widrab cruisers have an ability to make themselves immune to damage for a short time (like, say, during an escorts' initial alpha strike). Talk about instant tactics change. :) Have only run into them once, so I don't know what, if any, other unusual abilities they have. If anyone has more info, please post it. It would be good to know.

Congrats! You made first contact with a new species, and killed them! Gotta love Crypitc's version of "exploration", huh? :o

I have also encountered the Widrab. They were on a meteor in a Rolor Nebula at the same time as me. They just attack automatically, I wish there was some sort of diplomacy.

They're one of the new random species Cryptic has made. Others I can think of right now are Phanoians, Tegitrev and Tish-somethings. I always just leave missions when I see I have to fight them, they have no accolades or story associated with them, fighting them is just a waste of time.

I've left a trail of Widrab corpses throughout the Delta Volanis Cluster and the Arucanis Arm so far. Long live the Terran Emp...oh wait...I mean the Federation. Long live the Federation.

If you do some klingon exploration cluster missions, you'll see that the random Alien species that are enemies for the Federation are allies to the Klingons, and vice versa. So there's your justification, they're allied with your enemy against you.

    Also they're jerks.

What is more interesting is that the Widrab seem to be related to the Amlevians. :p

Personally, I like them. My Vulcan even has an Amlevian Exchange Officer. :D

Kill them. They are lesser beings and not deserving of life.
