Ship turn speed info?

My question is this: How can I tell how fast my ship is -currently- going to turn?

I've tried searching for info on this, but found a lot of whining about ships turning too slow and such instead. The impulse engines give a +turn speed, but that doesn't seem to mesh with reality. I had one that said +6 in a science ship, as my brother did in his cruiser. We both got our AUX power levels to the same value, then lined up one above the other, hit half throttle, and turned hard right. I clearly turned about twice as fast, yet everything listed on our ships said we should be turning the same. Then he gets an escort, and his impulse engine suddenly reads +20 turn speed. What's the deal? Are the numbers in the shipyard ship info on each class right? Then what's the deal with the +turn on the impulse engines? Why does it change sometimes, but not others?

What's the REAL turn speed of my ship? Come on Cryptic. We've been asking for more details on what the heck is going on for ship/character abilities, and this is a perfect example. There's lots of stats on ship performance, but some key ones are mission. ACTUAL Shield Regen rate, and ACTUAL turn speed to name a few. And what the heck does the inertia value really mean?

Much as I hate to bump a thread, I'd really like someone who might know something about how this works to chime in. It's hard judging ship performance without knowing some of this stuff.
