I've seen some good ones, some are excessively long and that pretty much kills the bio, people are playing the game not randomly checking out peoples bios, mine is short, straight to the point and if you want to read it...find me in-game some time =P

A nice fun little thread. I always try to toss something of substance to make my avatar dudeman have a bit of character (it's about the furthest extent of my roleplay ability or desire), so that in mind, and the constraints of the bio limit, here's my silly, over-cliched contribution...

"The Dak'khani are now all but extinct.

Aliens who had only known civil war, plague, and brutal violence, they have now become an almost-dead lifeform, nearly wiped from all existence by their own hands.

Desperate to escape a self-induced genocide, some of the Dak'khani had fled to small colonies in various planets of the deepest reaches of space. Thinking the only hope for survival now lay with their clandestine exile, the very essence of this alien race is virtually unknown and forgotten to the rest of the galaxy...

    Until one, fateful exploration mission.

A Federation Starship on a flight through the vast Beta Quadrant, the 'U.S.S. Absolution' unexpectedly discovered a new and uncharted world, now named Talain II. Scanning the planet, it was surprisingly discovered that pockets of life existed on the world initially thought barren.

Soon after, a small away team, led by then-Captain Gregory Quinn, beamed down to the planet's surface.

It was here that the crew found a small village, inhabited by a band of Dak'khani people. Quinn noted a stark contrast to the tall, powerfully built, blood red-eyed aliens and the apparent sadness and fear they seemingly radiated to them. He knew these people were no threat; they were just alone and frightened.

Quinn made first contact with the Dak'khani Ambassador, Kiernon Shadoweave, and after much ongoing and exhaustive discussion and diplomacy, a peace treaty was ultimately struck between the Federation and the small group of the nomadic aliens.

Over time, trust between the two factions grew, and the intentions of the Federation toward the small sect of Dak'khani were found to be noble and true. For the first time in known Dak'khani history, they felt at a sense of belonging. An unprecedented sense of peace.

Now, Kiernon Shadoweave, the first Dak'kkhani officer in Starfleet history, begins his mission of seeking out and uniting what remains of his people under the banner of The United Federation of Planets, while at the same time, finding and coming to terms with his own place in the vastness of space.

    This is his story..."

Sure, kinda generic in scope, but it works enough instead of 'Generic Alien Bio #4356649-2" ;)

I cut this down just a bit to fit it in the editor but here's my Ferengi's bio:

Krinj's first venture as an adult Ferengi following his Attainment Ceremony was the joint-acquisition of some remains and artifacts that a Federation ambassador and archaeological team had been forced to abandon at a dig site in the wake of a diamagnetic storm. Among the contents, Krinj discovered an intact Kurlan Naiskos and a pair of antique reading glasses. His business partner and childhood friend, Zab, believed the finds to be worthless and angrily sold his share of the venture back to Krinj, coercing Krinj to accept the bargain with the help of a “very persuasive Nausicaan with a very persuasive Xindi biorifle.”

However, these finds proved to be quite valuable and led Krinj to amass and deal in a wide variety of antiquities, with some claiming that Krinj's collection rivaled that of Kivas Fajo at his peak. Krinj's legendary “ears for a bargain” earned him a reputation as a businessman who could find success in unexpected places.

Sometime circa Stardate 90984, Krinj came into possession of an autographed Buck Bokai baseball bat, which he billed as having been caught by a seventeen year old Zefram Cochrane at the 2049 World Series. This attracted the attention of a young Starfleet Communications officer, Lieutenant Malone. While dubious regarding the claim that Cochrane was among the game's 300 attendees or that he caught a baseball BAT, tricorder scans confirmed the authenticity of the bat. After purchasing the bat, Malone noted, “I would have paid that much to see it in a museum.”

Realizing that he could make substantial profits without parting with his merchandise, Krinj opened a hotel and museum on Risa, noting that while first time visitors to the planet came in search of pleasure, repeat visitors often seemed driven more by nostalgia.

Lt. Malone remained Krinj's best customer through Stardate 92007, although the conflict with the Klingons was clearly taking its toll. Krinj learned of a Klingon Ambassador named B'Vet through an Orion Oo-mox therapist. B'Vet, it seemed, had both the means and desire to end the war. Krinj arranged a meeting between Malone's ship, the U.S.S. Coalition, and B'Vet's representatives, drawing up a contract to end the war. Unfortunately, this meeting proved to be an ambush and the Coalition was lost with all hands.

Krinj was devastated by the loss of his customer and the inability to fulfill the contract he had drawn up. Ultimately, he decided that he was obligated to enter Starfleet and help end the war out of loyalty to his friend and, more importantly, to fulfill his contract. Krinj's uncle reminded him of the 17th Rule of Acquisition, “A contract is a contract is a contract ... but only between Ferengi.” Krinj replied dutifully with the 284th Rule of Acquisition, “Deep down, everyone is a Ferengi.” He entered Starfleet Academy on Stardate 92365.

The first active duty posting for Ensign Krinj was aboard the U.S.S. Commonwealth but the toll of war and Borg targeting of senior officers would soon see the Ferengi in charge of his own starship by Stardate 96845, commanding the U.S.S. Opportunity. His keen business sense and penchant for making the best of a bad situation would lead admirals to assign Krinj an unlikely crew. Liberated Borg. A Cardassian. A Klingon. A Chalchaj 'qmey. Any particularly difficult recruit Starfleet came across seemed to find themselves transferred under Krinj's command, forming an unlikely crew that he came to manage with his formidable (if unorthodox) instinct for business and opportunity, whether it be through his illicit “Employee of the Month” system for crew recognition, assisting his Cardassian Science Officer's daughter with her economics homework or advising his Borg Chief Engineer on the wondrous efficiency of the free market. Krinj never lost sight of honoring his contract to end the war and his debt to his lost friend but the bond he formed with his unlikely crew was the kind that only the shrewdest of Ferengi steeped in the Rules of Acquisition could negotiate.

This is the Bio for my character. No time travel just the simple story of a Bajorian girl who knows loss and making her way in Starfleet. I have added so notes for people who are not into Bajorian lore.

My name is Harsi Gillor. My friends call me Gill.
Even after all this time since Bajor joined the federation people still don’t understand that family is very important and that is why we have our family name first.

I was born on Bajor in 2384 where I grew up with a really nice family after my parents got killed in a shuttle accident when I was six.

When I was young I got to meet Kira Nerys as she is a family friend, from that point onwards I always wanted to join Starfleet. During my education on Bajor I showed a strong talent to medicine and science. This was encouraged by my tutors so before leaving high school I was helping out at a local hospital.

My foster parents are very spiritual and wanted me to become a Prylar (Priest). After a lot of talking and getting Nerys to speak to them, about how me joining Starfleet is not turning my back on our religion. They finally agreed to let me join Starfleet with there blessing. Just before I left for the academy my foster father presented me with a new d'ja pagh (ear ring) he had made to protect me in the coming years.

When I arrived on earth the first thing that struck me was how blue everything is. On Bajor the atmosphere has a green hue to it so the sky and seas have a green tint to them.

Although I qualified as a doctor I did not take the Oath most doctors take as Bajorian history has always had conflict, with the Cardassian occupation only ending 40 years ago and war with the Klingons getting fiercer. It was important to me to be in a position to take up arms to defend what I believe in.

May the Prophets guide and protect you.

    Gill

Why would meeting Kira make you want to join StarFleet? Kira was not in StarFleet.

Jaug was a warrior of the Alliance on the planet of Azeroth. While tinkering with the ancient and titanic machines in the mountains of the northernmost continent, he accidently activated a high powered device that was detected by a Federation cruiser passing through the system. During the investigation of the signal the away team was discovered by the curious Night Elf. Being an Engineer by trade and always wanting to broaden his understanding of all things technical he jumped at the chance to leave the planet and learn about the facinating ship his new friends arrived in. After spending several years studying warp throry and starship mechanics, Jaug formaly joined Starfleet and is now an Engineering specialist.

I read through the first few paragraphs of the OP's original post... mostly because I refused to believe it lacked that much creativity. Sadly, I was mistaken.

Seriously, can't you at least change the names for crying out loud? Do you have to lift the names so directly and blatantly? Show some creativity for once! Surely if you can write a profile that big, you can create characters of your own instead of lifting them from movies you enjoyed as a kid.

I played a Vorta female (based on the look of Eris in DS9 Season 2 finale "The Jem'Hadar") first, then a Liberated Borg male (engineer) and finally an Aenar female (Science) that looked like Jhamel in ETP Season 4 episode "The Aenar".

The crew of the Eris character had a male Jem'Hadar, a male Cardassian and a female Andorian as main bridge officers, supported by a Orion female from the opposing faction and the Borg officer you always get from the beginning. I never got the Kittymeow Accord Borg BO though.

While fighting in the current Klingon - Fed war, my Captain and his BO's were framed for a crime they didn't commit. Now they help those in need while running from Section 31. They crew a black star ship with a red stripe. The Alpha-Team.

Bio: If it moves, shoot it. If it twitches after you have shot it. Shoot it again. After it's dead, shoot it one more time just to make sure.

The only bio i've managed to write so far is for one of my BOFFs. Which is weird, cause you'd think i'd bio my own character first if any. But then again, its easy enough to bio a liberated borg. 'I was a borg, and now i'm not.'
