Is there any way to block the STOgold people? Maybe even get them banned or something. It really is annoying. I know in other games you can crack down on these people and eventually they go away.

they can keep goldfarmers out of games. but, since everyone wants to be blizzard/wow, they wont. blizzard doesnt do much about gold farmers, not because they cant, but because they dont want to. last night i was in game for just a couple of hours, got spammed in local every 4-5 minutes, reported the spammer and after 2 hours he was still at it.
all they have to do is ban both sellers and buyers and there wont be a problem for long. im still waiting for a company with the balls to do it.
I really don't need 5 or 6 emails a day from "gold" spammers or power leveling services, it is beyond a joke.
What I want to know is how they can get their hands on so much Energy Credits so quickly, stinks of some kind of exploit to me.
So STOGold spammers, if your reading this, leave me alone, I'm not going to buy your service, I'm not going to spend money with you, so quit waisting my time and yours and get lost.
And whether or not Cryptic wants to be the next Blizzard or not, they need to do something about this spam.
If you block keywords, aka www.blah.com is blocked, they end up doing something like: www.bl ah.com (note the space, etc)
It's very very tough to, though you can lower the amount..
I would probably recommend allowing only mail for memebrs who regged in the game and possibly depending on a certain rank. For example, until LT rank, you can only send 2-3 messages per hour. In all honesty. Though its more of a hack then a solution. I just don't know a sure/safe proof to stop them.
If it's spam, i'm guessing its done via forums rather then in game (Though there both linked), which maybe a capache can be introduced when sending mail.
I'd settle for a way to report Spam via the forum mail, but I can't seem to find any.
One interesting thing I saw last night was that they offered a way to powerlevel from 1 to 50.
<Conspiracy theory>
Maybe they're official Cryptic Gold sellers and if you buy their services you can get the last 5 levels they removed with the skill cap?

Something like this is always springing up like mushrooms when a new MMO is out.
I recommend to ban these accounts! Making real life money with ingame items is a don't!
I told one of them that messaged me that if i got the money to buy the collectors edition and a lifetime sub, i got all the time in the world to get there.
What they need is the same thing that Eve-Online has: R-click + report seller. Once selected not only are they immediately petitioned, they are immediately silenced to you (temp-block) and all of their previous spamming is wiped from your buffer.
No amount of blocking will ever, EVER eliminate them from your inbox because as fast as they're banned they're making 50 new spammer accounts.
And, honestly? Why worry about them, except when they hit your inbox? STO 'local' chat is galactic... it's just an overspammed chatbox I closed within minutes.

What they need to do is block the Product Key they are using form palying if they are using a leagl one. But the only problem is some of them mightbe stolen to.
Not playing the game jet w8 for my hard copy to get here. But I would suspect that the "gold selles" are the scam, cant see them runing bots and getting "gold" to sell. Think peple would notice a bot in space and report them. But spam must be a pain. Think they fishing for card info imo. And gulable people will get there card stolen. Think to protect them filters or somthing should be placed in the game.

so far, no game has gotten rid of spammers from just banning the gold sellers. only if they start banning buyers just as fast will any game have a shot at stopping this kind of thing.
I sort of expect this sort of thing. Thankfully, Cryptic has included a Report Spam option that not only reports, but goes ahead and adds the offender to the ignore list.
However, I keep getting this junk in my actual account mail here on the website. Cryptic, could you add an option to maybe report Gold Seller mail here on the site too? Because I get a lot of it. About one or two mails a day.
When I made a new character I got all the old messages that I had deleted on my first character! Thats just crazy.
If we want to fight it we need to start wasting their time, talk to them and pretend were interested and ask them bundles of questions in emails etc. Just harrass them.

They already have that in-game. When they spam zone chat or send you a tell you can right click their name and choose Report Spam. This also adds their username to your ignore list so you won't receive anything more from that account even if they create a new character.

With MMOs once a key is registered it's associated with a single account and can't be registered again.

The mail in-game, on the website and on the forums are all linked. If someone sends you a mail in-game, it will show up in your inbox on the website and as a Private Message on the forums.
could any GM or admin stop the gold sellers.. thank you. You know people that sell in game credits for real world money.
have you never played a MMORPG before, they are in all of them, you just have to report them, dont buy form them and ignore the. They are very hard to get rid of.

just put a checkbox into mailbox settings, that i dont want having messages from registered but not active subscribers.
in that case, the spamer have to buy the game for sending messages. and if do, a ban result he wont buy game every day just for spaming.
(sry for english)
