Steam pre-order not working - FEEDBACK

Hey all. I've read a few threads about people not being able to start their STO subscription but this issue appears to be unique.

I've ordered the DDE from Steam and it works fine, my subscription is in, I've got lots of nice little goodies for my characters.

However, my girlfriend has tried activating her version of STO but currently can't play the game.

Steam gave her a code to use to activate her STO account. She didn't know where it had to be entered, it was only because I happened to know already that there was an activation page at www.startrekonline.com/activate that she found it. She tried to enter her key only to be told it was already in use. We've checked her account dashboard and it says she has a STO - pre order activated, so I'm assuming that she's just been given the same key, twice.

It would seem the problem lies in the fact she has not selected any sort of payment method but she currently has no option to set up a payment method.

She is currently locked out of the game. What can be done to rectify this error?

By going to the retailer that sold you the apparently defective key.

She already has a valid license to the game, she entered it during the OB and of course, never was given payment options as a result.

Now she can't set up a subscription at all and as such, isn't allowed into the game.

Steam gives you a pre-order key AND a live key.

Go to steam, right-click on STO on the game list, look at the keys, there should be two.

FYI, i have a similar problem, but my Steam code is invalid......last time i ever buy anything through Steam :(

Ah, that works a charm, thank you. It looks like Steam was trying to tell her the same code she was using during beta rather than the proper retail code.

    Many thanks, chaps.
