Btw grace period ends on the 8th.
Amazon canceled my pre-order
I read *somewere* (TM) on the forums (Jackalope...?) that there was a grace peiod of 8 days. Tha would take you to the 10th without a retail key.
Don't take my word for it though - like Farmer Maggot, I have a mind like a lumber room: thing wanted buried.
Well theres a few things you can do:
Contact Cryptic Customer service dept... perhaps they can extend headstart for you.
See if you can use / buy someones CE guest pass to extend your account for a few days
I was worried about headstart and when I was going to get my hard copy game, so I Pro-Ordered from Gamestop - Star Trek Online Collectors Edition - which they offered street date delivery if I did overnight delivery. Got it about 5pm EST. Already registered by account and setup monthly billing (Saving for Lifetime Membership)
How "long ago"...? I place my order with them in early December and thus far (fingers crossed) I've not received any cancellation notification from Amazon UK.
So on the first of feb, day prior to deadline to get lifetime sub and get the borg race selection, I spent another 50 or so bucks at steam and payed to get the digital deluxe edition and bam, downloaded steam and recieved the key required to purchase lifetime sub. Once I get the collectors edition in the mail all ill do is add it to my account and bam ill get all the goodies and the borg bridge officer
Not sure if that helps yah but thats what i did :P
When I ordered mine I asked for next day delivery, and I changed it to release day when that was made available.
I wouldn't hold your breath for Cryptic extending the grace period. I was in the same situation with Champions Online, and that was during a UK postal strike. Loads of lifers were unable to play for a while.
Contact their CS and see if they will help. A forum post is not contacting CS.
Chances are they won't be able to do anything.
I can't fault them for this. You are currently playing the game (from their perspective) for free. That can't continue for long, they set a deadline for it to end.
When dealing with online retailors and you MUST play the game on release, you need to pony up the expensive shipping and cross your fingers.
