Flying around Space and I see loads of people with no Imagination. Cryptic really needs to sought out the copywriter issues. Im getting fed up of seeing the; USS HelloKitty, USS TARDIS or USS Tardis and the kriks and picards and the bad spelling of Enterprise.

Then there is the Valiants (yup, Valiant is a no no - she blew up on screen) Executors, (this is ST not SW) Janeways etc etc.
My /ignore list is already to large to count *lol*
*Shrug* People can name their ships what they want. I saw a USS Crack House last night (!). Me, I spent a lot of time deciding on what names I wanted to use. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

Actually, there are very stringent rules if you go and read the TOS
And naming a ship after one that blew up on screen would be perfectly legitimate. There have been at leasgt 3 defiants, and 5 Enterprises, after all.
Yes, but none of them was commanded by captain Muppet and the fruit loops from the planet No Clue.
All joking aside, if it is canon, no gamers have the right to use the name in relation to the Star trek License without express permission of the copyright holders. It is one of the reasons for the naming policy; regardless of all the whining and name calling from the fruit loops to the contrary.

"lol"? Really?
Posts like this suck the goodwill towards humanity right out of me. You have a full ignore list based on what people name their ships in a video game? How can you say such an absurd thing in public without doubling over in shame? The act itself is petty and pointless enough. But to follow it with "lol", as if you had said something funny, rather than something that was a little sad... I just don't understand. Maybe you just don't realize how that sounds to normal people.
Why don't you go and preemptively add me to your little ignore list. I would hate to accidentally waste even a second of my life conversing with the likes of you.
For everyone else, if someone gives you static over "Executor" or any other historical name, just tell them to pound sand and read a little history. Explain to them that the United States Maritime Commission C3 class ship, Executor, predates Star Wars by 30 years.
Personally, I went with a combination of my childhood pet and a buddy of mine from high school: the USS Remo Williams.

No, the ignore list is filled with various things from caps lock names/ships, to stupid names, to the umpteenth recycled name etc. As to it being pathetic, when trying to RP with friends, seeing umpteen canon ship names in the same instance/sector gets old fast.
What happened to originality.
You sir, are also being quite pathetic in that you use one single post to judge me without having ever spoken with me, roleplayed with me, had drinks with me. I feel your statement in oh so more words than miine drags you to the level your post seems to be claiming I'm at.
It is amusing to me that my ignore list is already that long simply because people don't have any originality.
The alternative was I report names breaking the TOS... and that wouldn't be fun now would it.
I'll accept any name, (such as yours, fits quite well) within reason. As it stands though, Executor as a ship, I believe may be in the realms of LA copyright/trademark as a space faring sci-fi ship name (afaik - that could be utterly untrue in which case consider it withdrawn)
As someone else said, USS Enterprise, Valiant (even Exeter - shame) etc, are owned by CBC/Paramount. (Yes I know there is the actualy US Navy CCVN Enterprise!.)
Damn I knew I should have named my ship the USS Fozzy Bear!
I Already named MY first ship the "USS Faerie Queene" after the somewhat wimpy ship you got if the Enterprise got blown up in the old old text-based Star Trek game (Back before there were even Macintoshes)
LOL im just going to say this Here and Now. Jafo is a Real Life call sign I have. Stop reporting it!!
Yeah some are alittle to out there. But what did you expect. All Trekkers/Trekkies? One good reason for RP servers that Enforce those Rule sets.

so you add people to your ignore list because you don't like the ship name regardless if they are causing you problems or not? Wow you must not play very much. All that time adding to the ignore list. I am glad i just like to have fun and not waste needless energy on trivial issues.

Actually my friends and I do quite enjoy it. Its just nice to have the ignore list to wipe off people who a)have no imagination, b)are just mucking around or c)are just plain trolling.
I ignore people with those names as to avoid them telling me or their chat appearing.
Sure I could accidentally nuke a few rp'ers in the process, but, for me, the ship being your avatar in space, it is imperative that it be named something appropriate. Just to say, duplicates I can deal with (multiple USS Great Britains or Sommersets etc) its the names that either had no thought or are illegal copies of trademarks/copyrights...
There could eb a USS Janeway though? I mean that captain is pretty famous in the Star Trek universe, is she still alive during the timeperiod of the game?

what you might like to take into account ios the craptic name generator, when me and my friends created our chars together all our ships generated the name Highland,
so please remove yourself from your high horse and calm down

theres a old saying that fits this. "dont judge a book by its cover"
but is that what you are doing? judging people by thier ship names? i call this a double standard
All joking aside, if it is canon, no gamers have the right to use the name in relation to the Star trek License without express permission of the copyright holders. It is one of the reasons for the naming policy; regardless of all the whining and name calling from the fruit loops to the contrary.
This thing annoys me; if I want to name a ship after the WW2 carrier or the current day CVN (or even the space shuttle or the sailing ship) I can't do it because of some licensing thing.
(Not that I ever would name a ship Enterprise in a Star Trek game, it's just the principle that annoys me)
Seen a couple versions of Jake Sully or John Shepard and the Normandy. While Mass Effect and its sequel are the best games ever created and worthy of being noted whenever possible, it isn't needed here.
i see people don't get it the term Role-play. How would you like it if you where playing SWG and was RPing when suddenly you spy a ship called the USS Enterprise fly into view you would be like 'Dude we are Role Playing here and you are ruining our Immersion and fun.' this is how we feel we want trek not star wars or any over show or film.

Guessing then that you wouldn't like 'Captain Dylan Hunt" aboard the "Andromeda Ascendant?"
Anyway, there are plenty of jerks who kick you from teams just based on ship names (It's the first DAY, and some jerk in a ship called "Loki" kicked me from group at the start of a battle, presumably just because of my ship, the "Faerie Queene"
By the way, when you get kicked from a battle group, it only gives you the ship name, NOT the player name, so you can't send him a tell saying "hey, what'd ya do THAT for, ya jerk!"

1) Larry2k isnt a very star trek name, I vote you should use only a proper FirstLast type name
2) If you want to RP in a game with your own rules go buy the star trek RPG rulebooks.
3) There is one common server, and you are sharing it with people, not bots. We are not here to fullfill you star trek roleplaying fantasies, we are here to play the game. If you don't like us being around then see item 2.
4) If you want to RP then make your own channel for you and your friends and put it on an RP tab or something. Then you don't have to deal with us proles.
5) See a doctor about getting that telephone pole outta your backside.

Thanks!
You should reply to me replying to him about how he should make a thread about it.:D

Science: Trance Gemini (betazed female)
Tactical Tyr Anasazi (Klingon Male)

Did he blame the previous ship when he blew up because he doesn't know what he's doing?
