I have received my email from Gametap about the game now being released, however the email also only includied links to download, no key. Whats odd is at the top of the email it said there was a key listed below.

Same here, I got the download links, no keys. I have heard chatter that they will be dropping around 10am PST/ 1pm EST. But that's just chatter.

I have the key, but am now having issues setting up my account with cyrptic, keeps saying my billing method was declined, but my bank shows a $1 charge from them for each time I tried to get it to work

I'm also a Gametap customer. Didn't get any activation keys either.

I also find it funny that in their email, they gave their "no-reply" email address for customer support.

I ordered from Xfire, but am in the same boat.

I received a confirmation email from Xfire today with the links to download the client, but the email did not include the retail key -- even though the email said "Please find below our download links and activation key..."

Also, the "customer support" email address provided is a "blocked" address. You get a nice reply from the Postmaster, in French, that the email has been blocked.

My Xfire thread is here: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=98071

Not only was the link to the Game D/L the only thing included, they could not even word the first part of their "professional" email correctly: "Please find below our download links and activation key are you need to install your game"... think they missed a word there.

Did not catch that the email support link was "no-reply", so emailed them anyway, got an auto-response about no sales staff will read this, blah, blah, blah and a link to submit my support request at "http://shop.gametap.com/pages/help". Did that and got a error message from their support system after copying and pasting my request from my original email (a total of 1 minutes time spent) stating "Eptica Enterprise Suite E7.3.sp1

    Eptica Enterprise Suite session expired
    Your session has expired."

Then tried to log in to my GameTap account and they kept trying to push a tool-bar on my browser before letting me do anything. Not even a listing in my account about this purchase once I managed to bypass that junkware.

So I then drafted a loveley email to them and submitted via a link found after googling "gametap account support sucks". I am fed-up with them by this point. I am cool with downtime on STO beta/headstart (the Dev team is working their butts off to get things launched while being hammered by users and squeezed by production on the other side); however, an online reseller with shoddy support for as process that should be automated (they had NO issue charging my card correctly I see) really gets my goat. Anyway, they have until launch to get it done, otherwise, I will be requesting a refund.

Last time I ever use a digital download option from these chumps to save time (saves them cost in inventory/packaging... does not save us squat). Hell, my buddy's Amazon.com pre-order was sent over night and he had the retail box in his hot little hands as of 8:20AM CST.

It seems Digital Distributors are sending their codes out at 10:00 a.m. PST, about 75 minutes from now.

I understand now that the keys will be sent at 10AM PST; however, the whole point of my gripe is that we were never formally notified of this (had to search THIS forum to find this out) and the whole run-around they had me go though as stated above. A simple line in their email about "Retail keys will be sent at 10AM PST" could have saved a ton of grief. Again, I get why they are sending keys at 10AM, but I don't get the run-around they had folks go through... especially since their email said the key was included along with the download links.

I'm right there with you. I have the same complaints. The retail key should have been in the email with the download links, for 2 reasons. One, the email specifically said the key "is below". Two, and more important, the installer is useless without the activation key. (If you didn't pre-order you cannot get online; if you did pre-order, although you have access you are still without the pre-order perks.)

Furthermore, the customer support address provided in the email should have worked, not blocked our messages with an auto-response in a foreign language. The response I got was in French. Some of it I could read, the rest I translated with google.

The run-around and having to discover what was up with the retail keys on my own is completely unprofessional and irritating. Today was supposed to be exciting, not irritating.

Edit... and it's now 9 minutes past when the keys are supposed to be released and I have still not received mine. My anger level is now beyond irritated.

Still no key. Can't believe it. Just wondering, can we all go request a refund at once? Get their attention??? I would rather go to Gamestop and get the collectors edition (of which they still have boxes with pre-order bonuses in them) and skip the GamTapOut with C-Store points. Feel ... violated... must.... resist... arrrrggggggggg!

    Is Gametap related to XFIRE?

All the problems are the same, including the origin of the wrong support email provided...

    Strange... very strange...

(Work in progress, suggestions welcome... not like we have anything else better to do while they twiddle their thumbs)

    Dear Sir/Madam/Trans-gendered thing/Love Bot 2000,

A forum has been going on this issue over at STO now... now I know that you treat ALL of your customers THIS LOUSY. By lousy I mean COMPLETELY IGNORING SUPPORT REQUESTS + Mislead customers with incorrect emails (both support link and the key being included) + hiding behind your mother's skirt when you make a mistake. Actually… quite a lot like being married to my deadbeat ex wife again.

    http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=97495

How about I request... wait, strike that: DEMAND a refund and you keep your lousy key? Since you have not provided a key to myself or anyone else: you can cancel my order now and send the money back just as fast as you were able to take it from me.

Just went to GameStop online to buy the REAL boxed version. Smooth as silk. Can even pick it up in store. Heck, even got a Constitution Class ship instead of your lousy 500 Cryptic Points! Might even swing by Direct2Drive and see if the have any DDE pre-order versions left; I hope so.

Will make sure I pass on to everyone possible how horrible your non-responsive customer service is, your poor use of the Engrish Wrangreg in your emails and even stating that the key was below in the email you sent LAST NIGHT when it really wasn't.

    *** Added 2:30PM CST
It is truly amazing that you folks have the gall to actually call your trouble tickets a "Customer care request" when you care absolutely nothing at all about your customers.
    End Edit ***

Give me a break... better yet, give me my $59.99 back!!!

    Best Regards (not really),

Me (and Several of your worst customer service nightmare stories broadcast in clear digital HD posts around the world for months to come)

LOL... I should copy/paste/send to XFire. In hind site, I should have pre-ordered a REAL box from Gamestop as well. Based on what you said, and past personal experience, the REAL box would have been sitting open, on my desk, since yesterday.

Does anyone know what the refund policy is at Gametap? I agree that this is ridiculous, and I'd rather just get my money back and buy the game elsewhere.

As they have yet to provide a key per their contract with us, I would assume this to be a breach of that sales contract. Further, the fact that they have failed to provide a notification as to reason for the delay of the delivery of said key and have even claimed in their email with a bogus support link that they have already provided it; I feel fully entitled to a refund of any and all funds and any interest charges I may have accrued. I am not a lawyer (just a director of IT for a multi Bln dollar company with a huge Star Trek fetish and a week off from work with nothig better to do than make sure everyone I can think of will know about GamTapOut's little operation at this point) so I can't say if they will honor a refund request or if there is cause or not. I hate to be a jerk, but the customer service for these digital distribution companies needs to change. They have no overhead except for a database, a web server, and a monkey on a keyboard... they don't even have to worry about shoplifters. If I let my people treat support requests like this, I would be out of the job. Quickly.

It may be chump change to a lawyer out there, but a small legal action might be just what GameTap needs to improve their customer service... or the customer service of any Digital Distributor mentioned so far.

I also have not yet received a key. I submitted a customer service ticket via their website, sent an email to their support address and have waited several hours without any response. I just made a thread in their General forums requesting a response. Probably won't help, but couldn't hurt to have everyone here jump in that thread and express their discontent...

Have a direct link you can post here? Don't want to flood several different threads when one massive surge on a single thread could make things very clear to them. Then sprinkle around as many forum posts as we can.
