now I've got a nightname on my hands: I have to fight w/ trymedia and or cryptic to find out if i can still get my TOS connie, I've got to fight with my bank to try and figure out if they did in fact, like you, charge me .. of course they can't automatically refund me because the old card was cancelled..
AND I've gotta drive somewhere and buy a copy of the game.. $^&#%
You too? Unbelievable, why would Gamestop be using such a mickey mouse company for their digital provider?
Something tells me this is a problem stemming from the issue they had at the start of January where the preorders were showing as refunded.
I see a CRAPLOAD of compensation coming this way...
Best regards.
SO LOL.
I know right?!? BUT, in the very same email:
Ummm, no I would not like to shop for other great downloadable games with you jackholes.....
I don't think he meant to be insulting, I think he was just paraphrasing the email in his own colorfull way...:D
Lol i know. edited my post as soon as the light bulb lit up.
It's not really Gamestop per se, but their Digitial Download provider, Trymedia. Well I guess ultimately it's a Gamestop problem because they chose to work with this POS company Trymedia.....

Man I always kick myself for not checking the BBB before I purchase. But you think you're ok working with a company through Gamestop. Lesson learned I guess.
I was thinking the same thing so don't feel bad. I know Trymedia is at fault, but Gamestop owns this vendor relationship and needs to take action. I hold Gamestop responsible. I am giving this until tomorrow before I take action.
It would have been one thing to have been able to know you planned to do business with TryMedia so that you could look them up... but from what I've read it wasn't made clear from the get go by GameStop that you would also be dealing with TryMedia.
I've been noticing that a lot of companies form these kinds of relationships and the relationships seem to revolve around the electronic exchange of funds and services that are not entirely tangible. Thus making it more difficult to get a refund or to cancel transactions.
In theory if a company drafts from your account and you have cancelled your order, while they likely WILL get your money back to you... during the short time they have your funds they could collect interest on it before they actually send your money back.
sigh...
I have to download my game from TryMedia... it was a gift... and my TryMedia download cart says it is empty. funfun.
Edited for another perspective:
Perhaps GS simply has a deal with TM to allow you to download the game client...
But once you have the retail key couldn't you download the client from anywhere?
This leaves me wondering if GS will provide the key or if TM will be providing the key?
Since I bought the digital edition I understand that mostly what I'm paying for is the key so if TM is only there to provide a conveniant client download I suppose I can live with that.
If TM is providing the key and not GS then I do not feel very good about the whole deal and would not purchase from GS online again.
Have you loggrg into the website to check the status of your order? It should say "captured" which means they put through a pre-auth for the amount to hold it. I would worry if it still says pending. I have never had a problem with trymedia Ive downloaded quite a few games from the website. Click on my account then look down below where it asks for email and password. You will see a link that says login to your digital download (or just download) account here. Click that then login using the info from preorder.
you have to login to the digital download section, its a link below the login boxes.
I haven't had this..but
I have a order that says it's been charged, and is showing up on my bank account, and another order for STO that shows as still pending. If I get charged twice someones going to die
