Can we get some more info on the Velasquez? I'm particularly curious as to whether it's got the same value of DPS buff you can get with simpler tribbles.

I haven't tested the buff but it appears to be the same icon and text as the others. Here is a screenshot of it's info page (its sitting in my inventory on the right).

Not working. I'm running win7 on this machine. Maybe it changed the way that works?

If you're running Win7 go to windowed mode and hit print screen. It will take the screenshot in game but it will also put a windows screenshot into your clipboard.

Go into Paint and paste it in and you'll have the entire screenshot.

Found another one while looking for the vitales-snail.

Highison + Tulaberry Wine = Yu

Don't have time to update the Wiki if someone else wants to not sure when I can get around to it.

I'm noticing a pattern here. Most of the rarest tribbles seem to require getting them drunk.

Possibly. I don't have any Romulan Ale to feed my Highison at the moment. I don't know if Tranya is really booze, but..

    Highison + Tranya = Dotsan

Are you sure? I was certain it was Regen and Resist.

I just looked at http://sto-intel.org/wiki/Tribble and it says its Regen+Resist as well.
The guide at http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AczhS3xovyl6ZDhnc3Budl8wZHBwczZ3cGM&hl=en seems to confirm your assertation.

Hmm...which is it? I chose not to breed the matt so I don't have a sample to confirm.

i have a mattson for myself and 1 for every boff, so yes i am certain its regen and DPS

My Current breeding results. Each breeding was controled (one tribble and one peice of food off by itself). I didn't keep records of where it was kept. I know some were the device belt (that four slot bit) on my Character, others were in the bank.

_#|Breed (effect) + Food (rarity by heal %) = Result (effect)
01|Dotson (heal) + Earl Grey Tea (56%) = Thompson (heal)
02|Dotson (heal) + Earl Grey Tea (56%) = Thompson (heal)
    03|Thompson (heal) + Tulaberry (64%) = Tuffli (heal)
04|Dotson (heal) + Romulan Osol Twist (72%) = Vitales (heal)
    05|Tuffli (heal) + Bolian Souffle (64%) = Stahl (heal)
06|Vitales (heal) + Cardassian Zabu Stew (64%) = Tuffli (heal)

Breed | Color and Pattern | Effect
Dotson | Solid Dark Brown | Self Heal
Thompson | Solid Black | Self Heal
Vitales | Solid Grey | Self Heal
Tuffli |Dark Brown with Cream Stripe and Spots | Self Heal
Stahl |Solid Cream | Self Heal

This would fit with prescribed lore. Klingons hate tribbles and vice versa. It makes perfect sense that your klingon wouldn't get a buf from the tribble as the tribble's trilling sounds are supposed to affect "human" nervous systems. If the tribble doesn't trill but instead simply screeches, no buff. Makes sense.

I do not believe it its a bug nor do I believe it will it be fixed. I really don't feel its broken.

I do not think it is broken or buged either. It actually fit the lore. Just wanting to say that I tested it out and it true you do not get the buff.

Updated Test Results follows, but have seen a definite pattern:

    Tuffli + 56% food = Sparkes
    Tuffli + 56% drink = Dotson

Perhaps a similar situation will arise with other breeds.

    Results still pending:
Tuffli + Andorian Tuber Root = ?? ( Old test resulted Sparkes so probably will again )
    Tuffli + Bajoran Deka Tea = ??
    Tuffli + Bajoran Hasperat = ??
    Tuffli + Bajoran Kava Juice = ??
    Tuffli + Banana Pancakes = ??
Tuffli + Croissant = ?? ( Old test resulted Sparkes so probably will again )
Tuffli + Haggis = ?? ( Old test resulted Vitalis but that doesn't work with pattern noted so will see )
    Tuffli + Jambalya = ??
    Tuffli + Klingon Raktajino ??
    Tuffli + Spring Wine = ??

    9th Feb
Tuffli + Bajoran Mapa Bread = Sparkes
Tuffli + Field Rations = Sparkes
    Tuffli + Coffee = Dotson
Tuffli + Klingon Targ Milk = Dotson
Tuffli + Prune Juice = Dotson

    8th Feb
Tuffli + Catfish Sandwich = Sparkes
Tuffli + Earl Grey Tea = Dotson
    Tuffli + Feline Supplement 74 = Sparkes
Tuffli + Ferengi Snail Juice = Dotson
Tuffli + Hot Chocolate = Dotson
Tuffli + Root Beer = Dotson
    Tuffli + Synthale = Dotson

That said, I was wondering if anyone was thinking of putting up a wiki for this breeding test or expand an existing STO wiki to add the ability for us breeders to interact with results.

    New DISCO

So the buffs on the ultra rare-bred Tribbles (the single buff tribbles bred only from double buff tribbles) are larger than normal.

Both my Velasquez's DMG buff and my Griffis's resist buff are twice as much as the DMG/resist buffs given by either the rare single buffers, or the very rare double buffers.

Could we possibly keep climbing the ladder to double or tripple buffers that give double or more values as well? (ATM I have everything on the google doc except VT2, YU & the Best Buy 1)

Comparing stats values, in weapon hotbar for DPS and on character stats screen for resist. Highison should be the double regen tribble based off it's breeding line I believe, it's just impossible to say for sure cause you cant quantify the buff.

The resistance one (Griffis) for example puts my lowest resist @ 1.8%, with others going higher, while the normal resist, or resist + X tribbles put the values between. .9% and 1.1%

Hmm I see the resist changes now, but I don't see a change to my DPS no matter which buff I try.

The DPS difference is very small, the exploit attack on my mk10 gun went up 1 dmg (in the mid 300's dmg range) so depending on your values you may not see it, but it is there.

I'm wondering if Griffis, Highison, and/or Velasquez can maybe breed double stat double value tribbles with the right food? Or maybe even the elusive Rivera Best Buy triple stat tribble or an equivalent? Maybe you even have to breed the three of them together somehow?

I think we're also still missing double stat tribble, which should be resist + regen. As we have a DMG/resist and a DMG/regen.

If the symmetry between the two branches holds true, velasquez should have an offspring with red/gold stripes corresponding to griffis's offpring yu, and ricossa should be the second vitales's parent, correponding to the mattson/velasquez relationship.

Unfortunately I have been unable to procure the proper food for breedig Yu. :( But I did sit my Griffis with a few different food items before logging for the evening to see what pops up.

People seem to be marking all the food needed for further testing at 100k or more an item though. Makes it quite hard to experiment in any quantity.

Some of those people are just using the auction house as extra storage space, pricing things at a rate they know no one will buy. But it does look like someone in the last day or so went around buying up all the cheap food of every type and repriced it at 10K.

thats just wrong if this is what happened. Apparenlty people think ovrecharging for stuff is the only way to go. Well for all of us tribble breeders we really just need to not breed the better tribbles for anyone untill they stop this kind of nonesense. Otherwise all it will do is cause us to jack up the price of the rare tribbles and people still wont get them.

There's like 10 million tribbles on the exchange, and no way to search by subspecies. Even if you wanted to buy a rare one and were willing to pay a hefty premium for it, it would take a year to find it up there.

Tell me about it. I started by finding all the tribbles I could on the exchange and spent probably 30 minutes just scanning through pages of commons to find the rares. In the end I probably found 2/3 of the rare ones for between 5 and 100k each. Between tribbles and food I probably spent 3/4 of a million energy on tribbles.

well unless you know what to look for by color and patterns. I think if might be a prudent idea take down the links to all the breeding info. i went through all the 72 foods and the cheapest 1 i found was 200k for a stack of 3. Looks like they are just take the better foods for breeding the rare tribbles and jacking up to ridiculous prices. I really hope nobody buys them for those prices. I mean the game just came out and nobody has that kinda credits to spend just to breed some tribbles. I have all the rare ones already breed for me, my boff's, and some to fleet mates who, pluss i stored up some extras for later use.

Its just dumb really and doesnt help out anyone doing this kind of stuff. Its not hard to get in game money but some poeple just done seem to get it. Oh well ill just go and get all the food i need the way i have been and find it. Others can deal with that exchange TRIBBLE.

ohh and if you right click on the tribbles in the exchange you will get the info on them.

Ouch, think I got away with about 30k on 3 tribbles I didn't have already to add to my farm. I think I have all the basic self heal ones so now working through who breeds into what with the basic foods before moving onto the fancier ones.

I just had this mailed to me as they cannot for some reason post on the forum topic.
    Greetings,

I would have posted, but it seems that my account can't add in that thread for some reason.

First, I Thought you might like have my initial testing...
    Starting with (1) Thomptson:

    -Field Rations ==> Sparkles
    -Livanian Beet ==> Tuffi

    Now, Taking the Tuffi

    -Ratambo Stew ==> Jasperson
    -Quadrotricale ==> Stahl

Next, Sparkles + Field Rations ==> Vitales
Vitales + Vulcan Promeek Soup ==> Tuffi

highison + cardassian taspar egg = sparkes
ricossa + tranya = dotson (already charted, confirming)
highison + tulaberry wine = yu (already charted, confirming)
ricossa + jumbo romulan mollusk = griffis (already charted, confirming)
    vitales-snail + jumbo romulan mollusk = stahl
    vitales-snail + romulan ale = sparkes
vitales-snail + klingon heart of targ = dotson
yu + klingon heart of targ = dotson

    These are the 2 times I got a vitales-snail:

several types NOT including vitales-snail or velasquez + several foods = several types / vitales-snail

    vitales-snail / highison / ricossa / velasquez + tranya / cardassian taspar egg = vitales-snail / dotson

On the 2nd result, I discounted the presence of the vitales-snail and velasquez in a previous post, since they were not present in the first result. After trying all 4 combinations of highison / ricossa and tranya / cardassian taspar egg without getting another vitales-snail...I'm starting to believe it requires more than 1 type present to get a result.
