If someone would tell me where he is, I'd stop asking, thank you very much.
Also, how do I claim my pre-order items.
I am not referring to the actual question - it's the torrent of replies. I would have been more accurate in saying that I would consider putting all of the people who answer the questions with lies and useless info on ignore. That is one thing that bothers me - people who mock those in need of help.
more and more veryday, might aswell turn off the chat, so many children...
Good idea, I've done it, press the minimize button, not only do you get more screen space, it hides the constant scrolling of doom, and me being the way I am, tries to read every bit of it. Trust me, you aren't missing out on much, if anything at all. A lot of it is off topic and terrible jokes, such is the nature of a MMO community.
So do that, give it a couple of weeks, things will settle down, people will learn2play and no longer need to ask/spam where Sulu is when he's standing right next to them!!!! Rawr!
But if there's a limit, and we continue to have this cross zone chat, something better than ignore will have to be done.
There are some that have genuine concern questions or comments, but most of it is flaming smack talk ,and insults.
Noobs/nubs this, QQ that. #$$% #$@ Cryptic.
It's really disheartening to see the mindset of some of the people that are in game with me. I'd rather go through the game alone than be paired with some of these people, and I use the term people loosely.

"I use the term people loosely"...
So, if I understand this correctly, flaming & insults in game are bad, but flaming/insults on a message board are ok?
Also, you seem like you found a decent solution. If you don't like zone chat, just turn it off. I'm puzzled by people who just want infinite ignore lists instead of doing just that. Ignoring people in-game doesn't really work anyway, as people reply to them and you've only end up with confusing half-conversations in the end.

I am so un-used to using ignore, that didn't even occur to me. Ok, I won't start now! I do like having the window up, though - in the midst of the nonsense are the gamers I look to join in an MMO.
you ignore everyone who says something that offends you? why have the chat window open at all? oh wait, you probably didn't catch that second part. lemme switch to my alt real quick so i can whisper it to you. do you seriously sit there clicking ignore all day on people? go play the freaking game already.

the worst is when they feel the need to let everyone in chat know they have ignored someone. IGNORED!!!! like anyone, the ignoree included gives a tribble's TRIBBLE.
those are usually the only people I ever put on ignore.

Same here. It is my least used tool in MMOs.
However: The chat goes by so fast, it is tricky to scroll to the stuff I want to see, so I think I'll start using it.
Step 1) Hit ignore every time I see 'Chuck Norris', 'Your mom', or 'Where's Sulu'.
Step 2) Ummm . . . that will probably cover it!
(The Sulu thing gonna lose it's novelty very quickly . . . )
If someone would tell me where he is, I'd stop asking, thank you very much.

It will come in the downloadable patch that fixes the server stability issues that don't exist.
Thanks. But what about my pre-order items?

p.s. Love the avatar!

Point taken. Although it was directed at no one person.
I can't expect anymore from them than I can myself I suppose.

If a troll trolls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, did it make a flame?
