Was just having a think about how to make a death penalty that would not cripple the gameplay, but at the same time would put a little more feel into the game and I came up with this..........
Under your ship HUD you have 18 little men <I assume this is your crew> Dunno if the number changes depending on your ship but for now I shall assume it does not.
Ok right now if you take a lot of damage to your hull, a fair amount of the crew go orange, now I assume this means there injured and the guy in sickbay is working his TRIBBLE off getting people healed.
This is cool and I like this idea so won't suggest a change here accept the following......
If your ship goes below 25% hull you LOSE ONE of those crew <His dead Jim>
Now If you get blown up you lose TWO of these crew, and 50% of the crew are in sickbay <thats a big sick bay> and come back into service as they do now.
Now there are TWO ways of getting more crew to replace the dead ones.
Goto a starbase and you get a auto refill on the crew >FOR FREE< after all there only redshirts.
Second is from a support power thats already in the game <I belive its an engineer skill could be wrong> Witch allows you to beam over x amount of your OWN crew to another ship. I belive this cannot be used on your own ship.
These effects do not apply in PvP. <that would be unfair lol>
This will not cripple 90% of players as most people goto a starbase every few hours anyways so they will not evan notice unless they get beaten up ALOT.
This will effect end game and the harder space missions. but if its endgame then you have freinds to back you up so you don't die <unless your like leerooy jenkins lol>..
Final not how come I can fly into a PLANET and LARGE asteroid without dieing or taking any damage lol.
