Amazon UK failed to deliver

So I get in this evening to an email from amazon regarding my reorder gold edition...

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen supply issues, Amazon.co.uk has not received enough stock to fulfil all of our pre-orders for this title. For this reason, this item has been cancelled from your pre-order and you have not been charged for it.

As a means of apology, if you still wish to order the title, you can order the Standard Edition of Star Trek Online (PC DVD) from Amazon.co.uk for £19.99 by placing a new order and applying the Gift Certificate code below at checkout:

This code must be redeemed by the 30th of June.

Please note that the release date for the standard edition is Friday 12th February - one week after the Gold Edition's launch.

So there it goes, no bridge officer for me, no early start, no cheaper liftime membership or open beta because they never delivered a pre order code.

And what do they have to say on the phone. "sorry"... I felt much better(!)

I guess I'll wait in hope that Cryptic might save the day with something, but I think I won't hold my breath...

    When did you pre-order it. Because amazon have always done a first come-first served basis

    This has been brought up SEVERAL times now. The EXACT same issue.

    Please use the search function or even just look at VERY recent posts.

    Devs have said they are looking into it.

    Order date is the 09/01/2010.

    First come first sevred? I'm sorry isn't this where out of stock comes in. They shouldn't sell what they can't deliver, especially when I could have gone elsewhere and now cannot because it is too late to preorder...

    Please read the whole thread before replying, I had already stated I had searched, had not had the threads re this returned (maybe they only update the search index now and then so new posts don't show) and had asked people to use another thread and asked for a lock on this one, but I guess someone wanting to have a go at someone doesn't have the time to read everything....
