Not complaining, just on the fence about subscribing. I've been in the beta and early head start. I was wondering if the first month of STOL is free online then subscription starts?
Anyone know? Searched the forums but must have been looking for the wrong things.
Your purchase of Star Trek Online includes the first 30 days of subscription time, and then following that you will be required to purchase a subscription.
The first month isn't exactly free; however, a retail version of Star Trek Online will come with a subscription key worth 30 days game time as far as I'm aware. So as long as you buy the game, you will get one month of play time without having to pay anything further. You wont be able to play for free just using your pre-order or beta key.
*Edit*
Doh, should have known I'd be beaten to the punch. Of all the threads to reply to, couldn't you have picked a different one first Storm? :P

So i dont need to enter my credit card info till after my 30 days is up?
It would be nice to play the game before deciding on a Lifetime Subscription.
My understanding is that it will at least be available after the release of the game, though I don't know for how long. It just won't be at the discounted pre-order pre-release price, and it won't include either the extra two character slots or the Liberated Borg captain.
If you've bought two copies of the game, will they stack to 60 days?
They should do. You should get your game, plus a code worth 30 days game time, these codes are unique, so there's nothing to stop you adding another code on to your account giving you a further 30 days.
In most cases where a subscription is required, you usually have to enter card details to prove you have the means to pay, but they shouldn't charge you until the specified billing date after your existing subscription expires.

you want lifetime + 30 days?
The way I think it works is that you do have to enter your credit card info, but it won't be charged until after the first 30 days are up.

I needed to know because I am going to need a pre paid credit card and have yet to buy one.
It will be 299.99 after launch, but no perks.
