My Gf just asked me how the game was this weekend

so i told her

not worth taking my day off friday.

since it just launch it crashed a lot.. and my lifetime sub was supposed
to let me have a borg character to play.

and since i preordered i got a headstart. but the borg wasnt
ready until like 3 on friday so i couldnt even use the headstart until
they fixed the borg.

and i had to waste my merits and energy credits at the SB because the assignments list is broken and not all of my mission rewards would go to my inventory. so i missed that content.

and the servers crashed all weekend.

thats the last time im using a personal day to play a game that has not
been running for more than 6 months.

I like the game tho when its not offline =/

i find it hard to belive that a typical girlfriend would ask how the game was, on the fly... but meh.

its pre-launch what did you expect? no mmo release is smooth.

it might get better, i wont say it *will* becasue this is my first cryptic game and i dont know what there like

I learned a long time ago to never take a day off on release day, or headstart for your case.

You want a day off to play? Wait a week and take a day off. Release day is usualy a joke

I just happened to have the day off Friday, but I wouldn't advocate people taking the day off because I knew it wouldn't be the smoothest thing every churned out.

I also tend to discourage people buying lifetime subs until they are 100% positive they going for the long haul.

Anyway, despite the downtime, I've had some pretty good time this weekend. :) Hope to see you around.

Agreed. I've rarely had the luxury of taking time off just to play a game, and I recall the early days of WoW when I was home sick but up for some gaming, and sat in queues and waited on server maintenance for the better part of the time.

When I got the chance to play STO this weekend (which was actually quite a bit despite the issues), I really enjoyed it. Was very smooth going last night, and a lot of people were playing. Had some excellent space battles and close calls. Very cool stuff.

I made the LS commitment, since I regretted not making it for LOTRO when it was first available. For STO, I'm in it for the long haul. I hope you'll keep after it, Tepeu. I think it will be worth it...
