My own personal suggestions for improvements

The following are my own suggestions, I don't speak for anyone else. I'm not going near the subject of server stability / game crashes because to me they are issues that will be addressed over time, rather than suggestions to further enhance the gameplay that is already in place.

Website
  1. Update the ships listings so that each category has a working link to a details page. Perhaps a small video on each details page to show the class in action.
Forum
  1. Create a "Suggestions" section for the forums, for obvious reasons.
  2. Put a "Report mail" button in the messages section of the forum. This allows us to report the moronic energy credit farmers.
  3. Whn creating official threasds about such things as estimated downtimes and when the servers will be back up, lock the thread so that only the devs can post in it. This helps people to find the information without the need to wade through pages of player comments.
Sector Space
  1. Tone down the grid, personally I dont think we need that many squares and it doesn't need to be so bright and colourful. At the moment it looks like a scene from Tron, rather than be representative of a tactical view in Startrek.
  2. Increase the size of sector space by 50%, thus spacing out the systems a bit more to allow for comets passing through the sector, asteroid belts and nebulas that can be visited without the need for missions. Where applicable introduce mini-starbases in each sector for repairing and provide minimal facilities (buying and selling to npcs, bridge officer purchase, etc).
  3. Allow players to set where the Transwarp takes them.
  4. Freight Traders in sector space shouldn't be broadcasting that they are leaving the area when we haven't actually spoken to them. Something tells me that this is probably because their message is broadcast to an area rather than specific individuals, just like the group broadcast issues detailed in this list.
Missions
  1. At the moment the actual name of the "Patrol the....sector" mission seems to be appearing in the list of objectives it. So basically, it needs to be moved out of the bulletpointed list of objectives. For example, the first bullet point in the "Patrol the Xarantine Sector" mission is labelled as "Patrol the Xarantine Sector", whereas all the other bullet points are about the systems themselves.
  2. Prefix the "Patrol the.... sector" missions so that people can see which are just repeatable mission and which progress the story line. For instance, all the "Patrol the..." missions could be prefixed with "RDA: " (Regular Duty Assignment).
Ships
  1. Allow people to left click on the ships stationed in the docks outside the Sol starbase and be able to query info on them such as the class and rank of the ship.
  2. Slightly boost the turning circle capability of the cruisers. See other threads.
  3. Bring in the suitable death penalty that better reflects the startrek experience whilst remaining a suitable deterent to zerging tactics. Perhaps call it "Systems Intregity" and thus can be repaired in a feasible manner rather than the idea of buying new crew. Integrity loss could be gradual and appropriate (e.g. total loss occurs after an hours worth of CONSTANT combat thus in reality, it would be several hours of gameplay that could result in complete loss of intregity). The local starbases in each sector block (see above) could then provide repair faciliteis to the ships intregity.
UI
  1. Group members names should be shown in a different colour than non-group members in sector and local space.
  2. Autofire option for all phaser / disruptor banks (not just 1 front + 1 rear). Suffice it to say, that its hard enough micro-managing your torpedos + special ability cooldowns + maneouvring, let alone making sure that all phasers and disruptors are efficiently firing. Yes, the spacebar fires them all, but why bother having an autofire option at all if manual firing was a necessity for gameplay.
  3. Allow us an in-game option to determine whether incoming communication messages appear in a minimised form rather than appearing in the centre of the screen and slowing the ship down. For instance, when sulu sends me a message initially it would appear as a flashing bar in the "low priority" window area of the UI. Players could then click on the bar to maximise the window into the centre of the screen (as they do when they've selected "not now").
  4. Extend the two-tier view for the personal tray so that it allows for 10 buttons instead of 8. At the moment we only get 8 buttons in the "two tier" view, whereas the "three tier" view of the personal tray has 10 buttons.
  5. When in a group, each time someone selects an option from the dialogue window, the new dialogue shouldn't be broacast to all other players in the group. At the moment, when someone clicks an option they not only get the new dialogue because THEY clicked it, but then they get it repeatedly spammed to them because the other people in the group clicked it too.
  6. The exchange needs clickable headings for each column on the search results, so that the results can be sorted by cost, name, etc.
