Then move along... I dont mind, infact I encourage feedback, but seriously what was that?

Explain yourself. What part of the game is a joke? Which specific bit dont you enjoy. What are your suggestions for improvement, do you actually have any or do you come on the forums, see the flame posts and want to join in because you think its "cool" to do so.

Posting "this game is a joke" really wastes your time, our time and that of Cryptic. They view these forums to see what players are talking about, how the gameplay experience can be improved.

I'm all for criticism, but that was just worthless.

and with that sweeping statement you flounce out the door?

generally after making a statement like that its expected to back it up with an explaination as to why you felt it was a solo game?

and SW:ToR is also jsut doing rounds on the HypeMobile, I would wait until launch before backing any game as 'the Uberest Bestest Wicidest game EVAH!!!'

(thats getting down with the kids...I think...)

Enjoy your sitting in a dark room crying for the next year while TOR gets made. We'll try not to mourn your loss too hard when we're busy having fun here~!

*as well*? STo not even on the retail shelves yet guys lol give it a chance. Only a TRIBBLE would right of any mmo at launch. You have to give it some months to develop after launch and get patched etc. Retail / public launch is only way to find the mass of things wrong in mmos at launch.

Really seeing a lot of impatient folk who should NEVER have pre ordered STO or even come on board so early. If you dont like it and find it buggy etc them leave, have a life and come back in 6 months :)

    Sure it wiill...

Cause they are rushing that one out too...

SWTOR may not be the next great MMO, but chances are pretty good that it's going to be FAR more successful than STO...Better IP, better Devs, better Producers, WAY more cash backing it...I'm guessing it's going to blow STO out of the water with the depth of the Game alone...But we'll see soon enough...

I agree totaly with you because these devs that are currently making games do nothing but copy off each other. SWTOR is nothing but a single player mmo. Its evident from all the releases they have put out that it will be another game like this....no immersion, no depth, no community, rediculous crafting system, and worse of all it will be a grind to get up the ladder then raid and dungeons for the end game. The only game in the future that I am looking forward to is "Infinity Quest for Earth" which is a completely refreshing look at mmo's. In it you can be anything you want to be. There is no limits on your character, no classes, no paths blocked to you. Just like in real life you can attempt anything and build your personality and ship to fit what you want to be. It has no instances and you can fly from ground, to air, to space and back down using real life physics. That game will bust all other games wide open because it will be the first of its kind. The only thing close is the pre cu, pre nge SWG.

Actually seeing STO, I'm not really hopeful for TOR either.

TOR at least to my understanding shares this "idea" of instancing game to a death. TOR will also be more of a single player game as is STO.

One can only hope that Bioware changes its direction a bit, after seeing what kind of monster Cryptic crated.

I never understood this blind faith in TOR. Yes, BioWare makes great, immersive single-player experiences but they have never -- and I mean never -- handled a MMO title.

Look up alot of our previous posts months ago, alot of us called what the game would be like ages ago. The devs try to give enough information to make the game interesting but always hive away game play whether they meant to or not. I liked the no levels game idea but its still a grind none the less. This game turned out pretty much what I called months ago but I never imagined that the devs would push out such an unfinished game this close to opening day.

True enough...It is just a Game...But in those Games you mentioned Folks were screaming and crying for a reason, just like they are here...I LOVED a ton of stuff about AoC...I hated seeing it die the way it did (well it's not yet truly dead...But most of those who left...which was a majority of initial Subs...will never return)...To ignore the fact that a good amount of Subscribers are REALLY unhappy with this STO Product will only lead to the same fate AoC and Warhammer had..This Game is going to bomb REAL bad unless these issues are addressed and it better be quick...I've seen this movie before...It's going to happen unless there is some MAJOR improvement quickly...Telling Folks to stop whining is not helping anything...Those of You who want to defend this Game should be listening to these Folks and demanding the Devs please them. Cause otherwise you'll be playing all by yourselves...Then you'll quit too...

If you REALLY like this Game, listen to those who are unhappy and respect their opinions even if it is a bit of trolling and whining...Cause I can promise you for every one person whining and over-complaining on the Forums, there are 3 more who won't say a word but instead will simply cancel after the first 30-120 days...

Can't do. If they can't take the time to formulate their opinions in a somewhat respectful manner, then they don't deserve to be taken seriously. It's as simple as that. Especially when there are more than enough threads around here where the person has been respectful in stating their issues.

It's not blind faith...Lucas Arts knows PLENTY about how to handle and how not to handle a SW's MMO...The fact that SWTOR is going to have 5 full years of Development under it's belt before launch should tell anyone they are VERY aware of whet KILLS most MMO's...They know plenty...There is an absolute TON of cash backing that project...They are going to do it right or not at all...Most MMO Devs talk the talk...But over at BioWare Austin they are not just talking...They are going to do it right...Just wait and see...

I have the utmost faith in BioWare, but for people to already anoint TOR to be the next "great" MMO is simply foolish on the face of it. As for development time... I say read my signature and reference the absolute freakout going on here, only add some Gungan jabs.

Dude The reason I even come to STO is because it seems that I will be able to get things done with few people. That's the appeal for me. Way better than having to wait on 24 other people to get there TRIBBLE together...

No, only one npc ally at a time. TOR honestly looks like a good mmo from what they've shown that's very story driven. Personally, I'm a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars. I also love bioware games. While Bioware may have never made an mmo before, neither had Blizzard up until they made WoW. Bioware has shown that they do understand the rpg genre. I'll be playing both games when TOR comes out. That being said, I see a lot of potential in STO and I don't believe it when people say it's a "POS" game. Not to mention the Cryptic team has been really hammering out the bugs and relatively quickly compared to other mmos.

Yeah, the biggest similarity will be the ungodly instanced game play. Instanced game play to me takes me completely out of the game everytime I have to sit and wait for a screen to load. I play games to be taken away from the real world for a bit. This game always reminds me that I am playing a game. Instanced games can only be played so much until you get tired of the same old TRIBBLE that is constantly thrown at you. You get bored and then you leave.

Lol, Yes Lucas Arts thats the big problem. They know how to make crappy SW games. And Lucas Arts has the lead and tells bioware what to bring us. Look what they did to SWG together with SOE. They made TRIBBLE out of the best MMo ever. Yes they made a kids game out of SWG with that NGE thing because every ones was crying that it was to difficult to handle and that it was to hard to become a jedi.
Now also SWTOR will be instanced and gues what 1000 of the same Jedi,s/Sith you will see swinging there sabers and tell you over chat how my saber looks. Oh wait they also bring you a best story ever because its bioware. Sure but how many care about stories in a MMO. jeez 75% of peeps playing MMO dont care about stories because they want to level cap in just 2 weeks. They don,t even read mission objectives or maps or manuals.
And also that game will counter alot of problems in beta and headstarts.

We love feedback, but it has to be kept constructive if you want to help us improve STO.
