STO Knocking Out My Internet Connection

Ok, this may sound a little odd, but I've spent two days with a process of deduction, for convenience I hope you'll bear with me.

I have a wireless connection with two computers and one xbox. I have left them on and connected to the internet. My non-STO plyaing computer, XBox and router have remained connected to the internet through-out the whole time of my test. I have had my ISP run checks on the connection and they have said its perfectly fine, solid connection, no problems.

Now, for the STO computer that is connected to the internet.

I have been reporting numerous connectivity issues to the STO game, which others have said is unusually high and maybe a problem my end.

I was playing the game for about 3 hours yesterday and being disconnected roughly every 20 minutes. I noticed that everytime I did this my internet connection would go as well. Naturally I assumed that was where the problem was. However, it did not affect either the other computer, the xbox (which I was using to speak to fellow STO players) nor my router.

This happened every time I was disconnected. So I stopped playing STO for about 6 hours to see if the STO computer would still have the internet problem. It was fine. It remained connected with no issues. I wsa able to do a variety of things (browse the net, download files, stream etc).

So in short, my computer and STO do not get on well. Any clues and what can I do?

PS before anyone thinks I'm mad, there is another guy whose posted here with a similar problem. I thought he was made too when I read it.

PPS. Running Windows 7, Internet is 8gb BT Home Hub 2 *N class router)

I got this with Champions Online. You'll probably find it has absolutely nothing at all to do with your network or internet. See, when something like the graphics driver keels over and dies with Vista or Windows 7, they try to recover the situation. Pretty badly, as it turns out, since any number of other things can get utterly pooched when the system goes down and gets recovered, like your connection.

Weeks I spent trying to discover why Champions Online kept disconnecting my internet in the exact same way you describe. Eventually....my brother made me update my graphics driver, and I told him we would never speak of this again. Ever.

In short, the problem looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims about like a duck. I bet it's a dog.

I'm having this same error, but it knocks out my entire network when it happens. It only happens when I'm playing STO. But after a few minutes it disconnects and my internet goes down on my router knocking out the internet on three computers that are connected. :(

    I'm running on Windows XP.
