I pre ordered the game- will not have it till 2/2/2010. How do you get to purchase lifetime subscription by 2/01/2010 if you do not get the key till you get the box.

Who did you order it from? Most retailers should immediately provide you with a Open Beta/Head Start/Pre Order Key. Activate this key on the Star Trek Online website and you will then be able to order the Lifetime Subscription at the Pre Order price.

It is a 25-digit alpha numeric key but, in my experience, will not be labeled at all. For my online order it appeared on the receipt. Retail pre orders should have been given a card with a key code on it.

I have a similar issue, Amazon won't give me the key.

I ordered with Amazon and ended up cancelling my order because they would not give me a key. Instead I went with Atari who provided me a key on my receipt at checkout.

Ordered from Game Stop. Receipt have received on purchase and by email has no key. Retailer link was provided from the Star Trek sites posted list of retailers that comes up when I clicked on lifetime subscription. It promised

If you don't get your pre-order key tomorrow morning I'd call them and see what's going on. I'd make sure to let them you that you need it now so you can do life-time account. I'd also email them right now just in case.

Good reason for them to extend the sub offers for another month, of course for pre order only. That way we could have another month to decide, and its the free month anyway. I thought Amazon E-Mailed you the Key in like two days? Of course the sub offer ends tomorrow night right? I wish it was a little more organized, it would be much simpler for us.

I just sent the email to game stop. Thinking of just buying another one, a download version that some one mentioned came with a key. I will cancell the preorder with game stop.

Was the Atari purchase that got a key the download or the disk or exactly which version?

That's what I had to do. I was in the same situation. They would never send me a pre-order key. They evidentally ran out. I then pre-ordered the download version from Atari and received the key immediately with my order confirmation.

It took some work (and quite a hassle over a few days of dealing with them), but I finally got Gamestop to cancel my order.

I pre-ordered online with GameStop. No pre-order code was provided, and I was told that the game won't ship until 2/2. IMHO, after reading the other posts on this board concerning these issues, the Lifetime subscription "window" should be extended 30 days - I know that I, for one, would like to have that time to decide whether I even want a Lifetime subscription...
