Why is DS9 outside the Bajoran system?

It's not supposed to be, what manner of nonsense is this?

Yea, the wormhole is also in the Bajoran system. And you can see both the wormhole AND Bajor iteself from the station.

Are you sure about that? Wouldn't the station be called Bajor 1 then? Its in the middle of space...hence the designation Deep Space 9.

Fear not, DS9 and the wormhole are still within the Bajoran star system, as far as the show is concerned.

I've never been to DS9 in STO though~

DS9 was built by the Cardassians who named it, Terok Nor, and the Federation, with the permission of the Bajoran goverment, took over the station after the occupation renaming it, Deep Space 9 but who knows, maybe "Terok Nor" in Cardassian means, "Bajor 1."

The wormhole is not near Bajor itself, but it is in the Bajoran system. You can't see Bajor from DS9, the only time you did was when it was Terok Nor (and during the pilot). The womhole itself is in the Denorios Belt; we don't know where exactly that is in the Bajoran system.

It's pretty clear though they wanted the denarius belt seperate from Bajor, in case they want to do missions on the planet itself. Which makes sense really.

I can't remember the name of the sector block off hand, but in the Sirius Sector Block it is the "west" connecting sector half way down.

Yeah, go down the Sirius Sector block a bit, and hang a right. :D

If you hit the Albuquerque system, then you made a left instead.
