What I've learned about Star Trek from STO...

Humor thread. We all need it right now because of the queue stress.

Keep in mind that I've only gotten to Lt. Cmr. in open beta, so these might probably be wrong.

Phasers set to kill = lie: apparently, Starfleet officers that burn people away to a crisp using "kill" were just really good at exposes :D

Fall damage = negligible. : Just like in STO, if you jump off a ridge, you only take so much damage. In Star Trek: First Contact, Data jumped about 3-4 stories down to stop Lily from shooting. He took maybe 5 damage. Picard could have done the same thing, but no one knows if he'd survive the bullets! *gasp!*

Saucer separation = Legendary tactical/engineering console: This item will never be procured in the game... Only famous NPC's can equip it, see it or get it to drop :P

Voyager's Tri-cobalt device? : Either this was a one time use item, or Janeway had Tuvok train in a different ability and replace it. The fool! No respec NPC in the Delta Quadrant :(

Tuvok = Voyager member that carried wide-beam phaser : No one else used it! Wonder why...

Very few Starfleet officers roll

Red-shirts have no respawn button

Worf, Geordi, and Miles O'Brien changed jobs: they used to be red, but changed to yellow! (Come to think of it, Worf changed from Tactical to engineering in TNG and then back to tactical in DS9)

I'm too good for body armor: None required on an away mission (or not invented yet)

Enterprise E got some good loot: Quantum Torpedoes. I want to know what mission they participated in to get that.

Wolf 359 was too high level: The fleet that moved to kill the Borg cube at Wolf 359 must have been a heck of a lot of levels above.

Q = messed up GM: 'nuff said :D

DS9 = 1 instance: Overpopulation on the Promenade! ZOMG~~~

True. Might as well share the joy in laughter :P

Voyager's nanoprobe weapons = overpowered: one-shotted Undine Dreadnaughts o.o The Borg must have added about 10 weapon slots for nanoprobe torpedoes! Why did Janeway have them removed?

Janeway pre-ordered Six times from Amazon.com: Icheb, the twins, Mizahti and 7 of 9. Because the twins and Mizahti were useless, she discharged them. The leader of the Borg kids for that episode was a defective code.

Miranda-classes suck: They're only Tier 1 ships, after all. The only reason the original Enterprise was awesome was because it had the TOS BO's

Robert Duncan McNeill re-rolled: Cadet Nicholas Locarno got banned, so he re-rolled as Tom Paris... and got put into GM jail again XD

Not having a capitalistic economy, Federation members primarily get by through taking things off the corpses of their enemies.

Klingons, despite their apparent dislike of Tribbles, can't help but leave a few on their corpses. Consequently, all federation bridge officers have a tribble on them at all times, which they take out periodically and play with.

Starfleet Admirals usually have a few hundred thousand ships in the floorboards of their office to give to any aspiring captains.

Having your ship explode with all hands lost is usually just a minor setback, at best.

Clearly, Starfleet should have sent Miranda class out after the Dominion... after all, Negh'Vars had trouble with Dominion fleets, but a simple Miranda can take out a Negh'var any day.

Handing 200 year old starships to newly promoted lieutenants and sending them against modern enemies is completely acceptable.

    Agreed.

Picard loses enterprise :P So apparently, when you die, it's all a time loop

And once Janeway ended Year of Hell, Janeway didn't die, she just respawned :D
