The Devs owe you nothing at this point!

As the title says. The Devs owe you nothing at this point. They owe you nothing until 2/2/2010. That is when the game goes live. That is when you can all say, 'Well I paid for this game'. You paid for a service that begins on 2/2/2010. The company allowing you to get a head start is nothing but a priviledge. So what is the point in threatening that you will not buy this game because of all that is happening in the beta. Yeas, that is what headstart really is, More Beta Crash testing. How does the company telling you what problems they are having with their servers fix any problem? There is nothing that you can do to help them. What does you knowing accomplish? Absolutely nothing except give you more fodder to ***** about.

Sitting on these forum say that they are doing everything wrong 'ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING'. This is how they are going to run their game for the time being, this is how their server are going to run (Well in a fixed state I imagine) This is how the game play will be.

So Please, Will you stop whining, and *****ing at the Devs for some ridiculous reason and let them work. Oh Wait, They are fixing things because they aren't listening to you whine and moan.

And nobody is cheating, you just suck at PvP. Fix=Suck less

Rant Done for now...

Do you actually believe all these problems will magically go away on Feb. 2nd, when they'll have even more people hammering the servers then they do now?

It's not a privelage its a package deal and included in the cost of prepurchasing the game. So yeah you paid for it because its included.

What will you say on 2/2/2010 when its even worse then now?

Emeraldknite, I'm sorry, but you're incorrect.

When I preorder a product, and one of the attract features ("reasons to buy") for that preorder is that I get special access to the servers ahead of the masses so I can get a Head Start...and then the servers are so unstable that the "head start" is complete bunk...

...then yes, I do have a legitimate complaint and a reason to get angry with Cryptic.

If they didn't want to provide the service, then they shouldn't have sold it to me.

Sure, you can complain about the sun being too hot, but refusing to go into the AC.

You can complain about the kitchen burner searing the flesh off your hand and refuse to move it.

Just because you can complain, doesn't mean you have a principle reason to do so, other than to flex your e-muscle and stroke your e-ego

Please.. moar people act like whiny children. My list of who to ignore at live is growing steadily.

I think he does. He also failed to realize that he bought the headstart regardless if he wanted to. As a result he is paying for this and they aren't doing a good job with his/our money. I realize that there is a lot of demand, but wouldn't it be smart to at least get enough server space for preorders. That is the point of preordering. It makes sure you know how much server space to get.

I could have sworn when I looked at my VISA account, that I was short 60$ for the game on STEAM, and another 250 or so CDN for the lifetime. Product paid for. Im now a customer, even if the product isn't released. Complaining about something I already own is my right as a customer who has given money to them.

These problems won't get up and magically disappear on launch day. Game was in beta for a month, and by end it was mostly stable. Head start begins with a LOT less people and we have lag, queues and rubber banding all over.

And before you ask, I have played alot of MMOs on launch, some worse and some better. The worse ones, like Anarchy Online gave people refunds and free time for their broken launch, and so far this game seems to be on track for the same TRIBBLE. The game is very unfinished and technically shouldn't be released. I get that they have to launch now, but that doesn't take away from the fact that its still broken for people who have paid money.

It also doesn't help that Cryptic seems to be the quietest company ever for an MMO launch. All we get is "Emergency Maintenance" posts 30mins after the servers actually go down. No open discussion, no news on our investment, just nothing. The company should have a PR group helping us with updates and news, and reasoning behind decisions. (like how during beta everyone complained fleet actions are too rewarding for only escorts, then the game goes into headstart with IMPROVEMENTS TO ESCORTS IN FLEET BATTLES, making it impossible for non-escorts to get any loot). Clearly they don't seem to realize they have a forum for communication between players and devs. One of the worst "MMOs" ive ever played was Phantasy Star Universe, but their north american devs were always on their forums helping out and talking to the community. It made for an amazing experience, despite the horrible game. Would be nice if we could get some feedback.

Do we really want the Devs sitting around typing, answering every post in the forums instead of fixing the problems?

Well thats the thing. In any software development house, not everyone is a network engineer working on the servers. There is certainly more then one person right now who isn't working "on the servers". Not everyone can be everything in software development. Also what about the time they are patching servers, or in their downtime on break, there are many opportunities for a single dev to take a few mins out of their time to talk to the community that's paying their paycheques.

Most likely wont be worse on 2/2 because all the problems we have experienced would have been experienced on 2/2 if Cryptic hadnt given the pre-orders a head start. It gets a lot of the people going on the game. Its about testing so it breaks before it comes out so they can fix and adjust problems.

Somebody call the WAAAAAmblulance! Mommy, Mommy! My game doesn't work! Help! I can't find Sulu!

    GET OVER IT!!!

Do you know how many closed beta days I missed because of stupid TRIBBLE like this? Hell, I paid lifetime for CO and wasn't even let into STO's closed beta for a good while. I once called out from work just to get some beta time, only to find that I got the hours wrong and completely wasted my time. I b*tched and moaned, but you know what? I didn't get anything for it. Instead I decided that I would shut up, wait it out, and be thankful for what beta time I did get. Eventually, they dropped a whole nonstop weekend and open beta soon after.

Now the game is coming out. No, it's not perfect. But it's the closest thing I have to making my own crew, ship, captain, and enjoying all of that with friends. I AM THANKFUL. So much so, that I don't mind a little down time. Once everything is in order, I'll get to spend plenty of time playing the game that I enjoy. All it requires is patience.

The ONLY people who have a right to be mad about anything are the Gamestop preorders. They got the short end of the stick.

Everyone else just shut up and be thankful that the game even exists.
