Yep, at least it looks that way to me. I've seen a bunch of U.S.S. Serenity and U.S.S. Firefly.

Ship names nor toon names are unique because the game suffixs it with your username.

Hence why there's like 200 Picards, 50 Reynolds and a million and 1 kirks.

    Yes.

The names are tied to your forum display name. So your name could be Explorer@N0M4D and I could have Explorer@Ayanla, two distinct names but the same ship name.

No your not. Ship names are not unique, Toon nmes are not unique. They are tied to your username, so even if there's another 100 Explorers out there, yours is unique because it's techibcally Explorer@Insertusername here.

Yes, there can be many ships named Explorer.

Because everything in the database is tied to your specific user name. So it's USS Explorer@N0M4D basically.

Even then, you could probably name every ship you ever own Explorer. Because each individual item usually has its own "serial number" in the database too.

Actually, you can't name every ship you own the same thing. You must first rename or decommission the first one in order to use the name again.

No, they are not unique. I spotted another USS Sakura passing mine by on the way back form Memory Alpha.
