Who's Gettting Fired!!!!

I have tried to be optimistic about everything. Now I am just ****ED.
If any other business was run the way Cryptic is running this games launch, heads would roll, and roll fast.

I mean the most basic of failures, both in open beta and headstart. Its not bugs we are dealing with, its not enough server capacity. I mean come the FRAK on.

Here I am hoping to spend all weekend trying to make Lt. Cmdr. before everyone logs in on Tuesday, and I have gotten to play all of 8 hours since Friday.

And now this Queue horse$***. WTFrak. Moved ten spots in 20 mintues. After I had gotten in when servers went back up, just to be booted again 20 minutes later, then in and out 20 minutes later again.

I know this i one of a hundred such posts but the people at cryptic really need to be replaced. Sorry, but its true.

Someone should have gotten a clue during the open beta, but that doesn't seem to be so.

This would be understandable on Tuesday when the game launches but not during a Head Start.

I find it very hard to believe that there are more people playing now than in the last 2 weeks of open beta. Considering Cryptic was giving out free OB keys.

I am hopeful this all gets fixed. But as I originally posted, someone is going to pay for this FUBARed release.

It's true that every MMO has problems at launch, but this looks to be shaping up to be among the most inauspicious of launches. It's probably all Atari's fault.

Do other games have a login queue? Why wouldn't Cryptic atleast build a queue big enough for the Head starters? The number is only going to get bigger.

I was in open beta and have not complained a single time...I filed bug reports and went on my way...I didn't complain about the lag, about the bugs, about how I expected this game to be, about the weird exploration or shallow combat. I actually LIKE this game.

But I have to protest this stupid queue thing...I was seriously considering a lifetime sub...I was about 24 hours away from buying one after I got plenty of playtime in over the weekend...but now, I can't deal with this every day if I want to play. I'm only limited to probably an hour or two a couple days of the week...I can't sit here for an hour waiting to play. That is not worth $240.

Why have so many people that have never seen a release think this is a bad one?

I was in DnD release. LOTR. EQ2 and WARHAMMER releases. Don't remember any of them being near this bad.

    Do their queues actually move?

I have been stuck at # 892 in line for 30 minutes now.

Probably bought whatever had the largest capacity and didn't pay any attention to IO speeds

They should have read some EVE devblogs, about their early switch to Intel Nehalum blades, their switch of their DB servers to use solid state disk arrays, etc...

They are pretty open about the hardware they use.

Okay...have you ever had to wait?

At one point queue times were 2+ hrs on high pop servers when Lich King came out for WoW, for weeks.

I cant say what went on during beta, but I took part in Aions open and closed beta along with head start. And the SAME exact thing went on during the head start time there as well. Multiple server crashes followed by queue's, rubber bands and dc's. By launch and a few days after the fever died down of everyone logging in, it stabilized.

This after the huge amounts of the same exact rage I'm seeing on this forums. So take a deep breathe, walk away for a bit and hope someones getting the message to fix things by launch day. I'm sure theres some dude sweating bullets over there and is working under the gun.

Don't flame me for putting some perspective to this either.

The longest times I remember having to wait was WOW: 30 hours. WAR:~30 mins. DAOC: 2 hours.

The time I can remember from WOW, they had a que from launch that filled so quickly it crashed their server for over a day. Then ~3 hours to get through the que after they reopened the server.

No, I'm glad you did...this is my first MMO, so I honestly have nothing to compare it to. If other games (especially WoW, the most popular) have these issues then I have nothing to worry about
