For all the people who are demanding and complaining.
Think about this.
There are clearly more people interested in this game than they expected.
They are working hard to fix these issue.
They DO NOT want people to be stuck in queues
They WANT lots and lots of people happy and playing
They are likely more furstrated than you are
They DONT hate you
And this is not all intentional
Wether you beleive any of this or not is irrelevant
because its true and if only for 1 reason money.
So you can be assured these issues will get fixed asap.
so stfu and relaxe
And just a random fact for all those whingers, a games programmer alone can be doing in excess of 100hrs a week during the final phase of a games release and during the first few weeks of a games launch so whilst your sat at home with family, friends or just in your own enviroment complaining and *****ing, just think of the devs who are sat at work during all hours trying to get this game working for you.

Its a good thing you have channeled the developers with your medium psychic skills and relay this message for the diehard STO fans.

When you buy the rights to create an MMO for a huge IP like Star Trek, you oughtta be prepared. Jesus, it's not like this a whole new genre of game, or even Cryptics first title. I have a feeling this game will run out of customers faster than the apologists will run out of excuses for its mismanagement.

The people playing now are pre-order people..
They should have known how much was pre-ordered at least a week in advance of headstart...they should have had service levels of 150% of pre-order sales, in order to make up the difference for las minute buyers.
Looks like now there are at least 1000-2000 people more then they can handle...
I not only had to wait in line to get in, once I got in my mission progress isn't updating, even after leaving and re-entering the instance...I'm not happy. My weekend is over in a few hours, and I was hoping to make Lt. Cmdr. tonight
To also point out...it's not like pre-order was a big secret or anything. So, you want to play the game early all you had to do was download it form some site and pay the subscription fee to play? The release date is not on Tuesday, it was last week! Sure some people will go by it in stores but for the most port this by an early release game online was great! So everyone in their brother wish a credit card of some kind went out and bought the game.
Cryptic was not ready for what they thought was a cool idea and got swamped by users. Was is a mistake on their part? Yep. Do they feel bad about it? Probably. Are they going to fix it? Sure. Will it be in the next five minutes? Nope. You just don't plug a box in the wall and then it works and everyone is happy. They rushed the game, made a sloppy product and are not trying to fix to problem with will take time and test your patience. It's testing mine but I have homework to keep me occupied while I wait to play.
Basically, this que does not surprise me at all...and it's going to get worse.
The average salary for a games programmer is between $50,000 and £90,000 (in the UK its £40,000 - £60,000) depending on the programmers experience but they dont get extra for the hours they work, they just get the set monthly pay.

Awwww booohooo , I wanted to aswell, you dont see me runing around screamin TRIBBLE Cryptic sucks like like all the other dickbags in here.
Let me add a point to the OP:
They SHOULD be keeping the players in the loop as to game issues - that's what the Dev Tracker and other threads are for.
No feedback on at least aknowledging the issues and what they're doing means for many paranoid folk that nothing is being done and that they don't care.
Sorry to be a pessimist in this, but I'm mostly optimistic, merely reflecting what I'm seeing out of the huge number of posts that have come up the past couple of days towards gameplay issues.

SO F*ING WHAT, I am a construction worker and have worked many 60-80 hour weeks. It's there job and if they don't like it then they should find other work. The way STO has been handled is sad, bad PR, bad marketing practices, limited content compared to what was promised and a **** poor beta that left the game bad done for release.
Don't like what I said, tough ****. It's true and all but the most fan boy of you know its true.
Telling people to "STFU" has nothing to do with common sense, only you getting a warning/infraction for trolling.
What i cant tell people to STFU? its not a word , and it means Sit there frownin uma, hardly trolling i mean uma therman does have a big nose so i guess thats not nice, but hardly worth an infraction, so STFU
You'd be wrong, I mean it's not bad, but not as big as you'd think; and 100 hours, while long, isn't really, sadly, that uncommon in my life
That said, the OP is right, they'd much rather we were in game. I'm blaming a suit, cause the tech guys have been telling him all month we need more hardware and the suit, probably an accountant or a sales&marketing guy with good hair said, "you'll have to justify that expense."
Meanwhile he took the Del Taco guys out for a $400 lunch and threw a $70,000 launch party.
stfu and quit complaining? YOU stfu you kiss TRIBBLE. they should have anticipated this, they should have had enough hardware to host everyone, they shouldn't be playing catch up. this is **** poor customer service, and would you put up with it any where else? if I go to get my brakes fixed I will not let them put half used pad on my car with a promise that they are trying to get new pads in asap, while still charging me full price. would you got to a restaurant and order a 16 oz steak, but they bring you an 8 oz cause that's all they have, yet still charge you for the 16?
they know how many copies have been sold... they should have had servers to cover twice that number, at the very least. with another double that ready to come on for release day. so **** them and **** you!

Its like we are de evolving
So please just shut up
However their desires don't excuse the lack of stress testing equipment.
An explanation/mea culpa even if after the fact, would go miles for public relations.

I bet they get paid a good salary.
yeah i hear yah, Hey im not happy either, i wanted to play this weekend lots, but its not the end of the world, these issues will get fixed.

Please, take your own advice and stop cluttering the forums with your troll trash.
Yeah your right trying to add a little comon sence to these forums was a bad idea.

"Oh your hear for the extra weekend worth of gaming? Stand in line your 1183 of 1183 other players trying to get in TOOO"
And I wouldnt put it past them booting people so they can put an ease on the Que.

BOOHOO Baby wanna juice box
Actually, funny story, they don't. Game developer is one of the worst paying jobs out there, relative to the hours, deadlines, and workload.
