A one server system, according to Cryptic, is a good thing?

    How?

    acording to this http://www.mmoserverstatus.com/star_trek_online
they only have 1 game server on as of 5.59 pm est. its my guess that they are working on 3 other servers, while keeping 1 open. the server has flutuated from 2 to 4 to whatever.

    Nice

I really enjoy this game and have been extremely supportive of Cryptic however I am still hugely confused at how they grossly underestimated player interest

Cryptic/Atari, have always been the misers of the MMO world. They would never buy more than the bare minium of equipment.

That said, Age of Conan vastly overated its server requirements.

All in all though, I'm guessing Atari gave Cryptic a tiny buget to work with, and they are trying to make do.

    This ^^

Some MMO companies are bad at public relations but never as bad as I've seen here.

Im actual half hearted in my expectation of them answering, although I can say that from CB on cryptic has been very responsive to the community. More so than any other MMO i have played

It's not really ONE server but a cluster of hundreds of servers.

People really need to get this through their thick skulls already.

Have you ever thought that cryptic might
also be very angry about all the problems they are having.
If i was there and had all these problems i would be mad too...

But what i don't understand the Beta Server wasn't this bad.
You got booted alot yes but it wasn't as bad as this.

But agreed they need to put public relations on the top of there
list of to do's as with out us. well you know what happends. :)

Oh I have no doubt they are upset right now, Its always scary in this volatile genre if things are not flawless.

I truly am on the Cryptic bandwagon and for the most part they have done a great job.

I guess I am wondering why so obscure now ?

They have always been upfront with us
