So did the new servers ever show up and go into place?.... I am pretty understandable being in IT myself but this seems a little ridiculous. I would have hoped you had more servers in place by now ... knowing the loads you had in open Beta.
BTw the Queue seems to be almost a random number ... my login que says 656 of 944 and at the same time my wifes says 441 out of 1544 .... So how can it be both? I logged in 30 seconds earlier.
This is ridiculus im the same position in the queue and now there are over 2200 people queued.
I understand there was going to be some issues when the game first came out. I dont like raging or complaining when theres no reason but this is ridiculus there will be queues of over 10 thousand when the game is launched properly.... already getting towards 3 thousand.
Can we please have a dev comment or some kind of response that something is being done ?
ok i was totally OK with everything about this game until you hit a 2000 person Que for head start..... you do realize that if this happens at all in the first month of launch a lot of people will flee back to WoW(cringes at the thought of one of the best IPs on the market loosing to wow over servers not being able to handle the player base)
It's more than a little worrying that this is happening on the headstart weekend. It's possible they'll have more servers up on Monday, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
I'm willing to give them a lot of leeway, but even my patience is wearing thin here.
While the queue system is better than nothing at all, I've been 6th in the queue for close to 15 minutes - it seems hard to believe that no one has logged out of STO during that time frame... and I feel bad for the growing number behind me in virtual line - now 1014.
Ques are the reality of mmorpgs. thought then they are over 1k during a head start program you stat to get concerned.
Queues are the reality in multi-server RPG. I.e. in wow and warhammer there are low pop and high pop servers, so while a high pop server might have a queue, a low pop is always available, so paying customers can always play. In a single server game, 1000+ queues are not acceptable.
I would like a dev, GM or someone from cryptic to give us a number, of how many users this server is set to hold... maybe were wrong and all 7million wow users left and bliz is going bankrupt, and cryptic had no way of knowing that would happen... but i think we will see the number be closer to 20,000 and if thats the case STO will fail on feb 2. and i will have payed for a lifetime subscription and hung myself in the bathroom....
So glad I coughed up and bought the lifetime subscription, its gonna take a lifetime just to log online! Sure hope Crpytic use some of the money I paid to increase their server capacity
Its taking the P*** when I get booted due to a crash. The error system wants me to use my bandwidth to upload a big a** file in beta this is understandable, but we are now PAYING customers. I was 720 out or 1500 or so. Then the window changed.. now I am just 714 and I have queued 15+minutes
Ah at last it just went from 714 to a loading screen thats not moving..
good luck for tuesday guys. If you were gonna buy I'd wait.
Ooops... I had a huge loading time upon entering a planetary orbit and ok... the game showed it was frozen. I exited and re-logged, only to see a 1k+ waiting line... 20 min later, I moved down 4 spots.
It seems that in order to avoid Unexpected Downtime, they set the queues. Well, cya guys tomorrow when the log in goes through...
I mean seriously, what's wrong with programmers these days? Software in every industry keeps on getting worse and worse.
Can anyone point to responses by the Devs on this issue? I'm asking honestly, I've just now started to check these forums. I haven't seen the infamous 'queue' yet, because I'm always stuck on 'retrieving characters'. Feel sorry for anyone that bought a lifetime subscription...need to make sure the game will work first next time
I'd like to think I've been quite tolerant with this game, i was priviledged to be a beta tester and enjoyed testing the game, the servers etc - however this is a headstart weekend and part of my bonus for spending my money in advance of the game launch is to use this headstart weekend to advance my character
However, with disconnects from server, crashes on zoning, hangs on login and account servers, I am loosing faith in what I have thought up until now to be my next MMO. On the last dump out, I login to find I am queued. Seriously? A queue?? I see some of you have stated these are a reality of an MMO... but in all the MMO's I've played (and there are a lot), I've never had to queue to login.
The lack of response from the dev team is very noticeable and while I still think this is an awesome MMO, I am dreading tuesday!
I've been 29 out of 1000+ for the last half hour. I think upward movement toward the back of the queue is due to people bailing on the wait. I'm towards the front and see no movement at all.
Comments
in aion, if you got dropped or disconnected, you had a 10 min grace free login...
here, the queue is growing, and my spot is not even moving...
it's bad bad bad....
