Right now there are 877 people waiting to play. I'm lucky that I'm #73. THIS IS BS

Normally I'm not one to complain...

but seriously? I didn't spend $300 so that i can sit in queue either.
This whole "one server" thing isn't going to work, and I would honestly like to ask why they wont invest in more equipment.

It's not BS, it's called a queue. It's to try to limit the number of folks active on the server so that the game play is up to par for all of them. Relax and try to do something else with your life. :)

I paid $50 to go to a theme park and drove all the way there, BUT I STILL HAD TO WAIT IN LINE FOR THE RIDES! It was absurd! I should have been able to go on any ride whenever I wanted.

THEN they took one of the rides down for maintenance, of all things!!!! I don't care if they needed to work on it. I want to go on all the rides, when I want...they shouldn't restrict me! I PAID FOR IT!

With Cryptic u will need to play for a year to get 3-6months game time.
Since the rest of year you will be queueing. lol

Dude, he's not complaining about maintenance etc. He's making valid point that he paid for something with the reasonable expectation that he'd be able ot play when the servers are online.

For all you know maybe this is the only chance he'll get to play this weekend, or this month even.

How do you KNOW a shard isn't down for maintenance right now though, and thats why they put the queue? You don't. None of us have any idea.

My analogy still stands. Those rides were operational, but I had to wait in line to ride them, even though I paid to go into the theme park.

LOL - Nice try. Lets say that you paid your 50 bucks for the park, they let you in, but ALL the rides are down for maint.

But it ISN'T. The game is still UP, you just have to wait in line.

Neither do you Mr. Apologist. If you feel that a theme park is analogous, you need some help in the analogy department.

$50 for the game. $15 a month. Bottom line: i should be able to play this game whenever the hell i want. I may not be able to play every waking minute so the chances i get to go on and i am met by anything other than the game i want to play, then yes im ****ed.

Please, present another one then. It is another thing that I paid for, and another thing that I have to wait in line for during peak times.

And, you're right, I don't know. That's why I don't get my panties in a bunch and start crying like a spoiled kid w ho wants instant gratification, or compensation, or whatever else everyone is complaining about.

    We're a society of whiners....sad.

Dude...there were countless threads about not buying a life-time for a cryptic game, let alone a non-mmorpg rudimentary third-person shooter.

    Blame yourself.

Hmm, I think they just modified the queue display. They no longer tell you the number of people waiting, just your position (It was 1500 ish last I looked).

You should be able to, but you cant. The head-start pre-orders was a classic cryptic money-grab. Just wait until you really start playing to find out there is no game-play content in this game.

Bunch of whining crybabies! Just cancel your accounts and go away.

There is a queue because the system can't handle the load. They can't take teh game down for 12+hrs to fix it over the weekend.

Chances are it will goes down monday night for 10-12hrs so they can do REAL work, but they can't do it while people are playing.

So to help keep the servers from lagging and crashing, they limited the # of people

I'm actually #679 out of 1223. It will prob take me an hr to get in, but once I'm in I'll be on a more stable server.

Sure, you all have the right to complain, but stop being babies about it.. the STO universe willl be better off w/o you

    *******

Now here is where I do criticize them...

AION.. man.. it had 4-14hr queues, BUT if you crashed, got DCed, etc.. the game sort of "remembered" you for 5 mins... you had 5 mins to get back on.. if you logged back on in 5 mins, you BYPASSED the Q

Cryptic needs to do this... it's unfair if people are playing with friends.. or even solo.. crash... DC and go back and sit in an Q for 30mins or 4 hrs.

Now AION sort of had the Q built in from the start. This game did not. The Q is a knee jerk reaction.

However, I did sent in a polite suggestion to them that they follow the AION model of bypassing the Q

Correct, they did... they don't want people to know how many people are backlogged heheheh.... last I saw it was up to 1500, but there's probably 30,000 in game (at least)

okay we have a ridiculous number of posts whining because the game doesn't have a Queue. So the Devs put a Queue in and not we have a ridiculous number of posts whining because they put one in. You whiners just can't be pleased no matter what the Devs do for you.
