So, the truth is that I had very few problems with the open beta, submitted my bug reports and waited without a problem for everything to get ironed out. I figured that most of the "showstopper" kinks would be worked out between open beta and head start.
Yet, all sorts of issues have cropped up now that head start has begun. I'm experiencing major lag and rubberbanding throughout the galaxy (no, my connection is not broken; it's very fast/reliable broadband). The most frustrating thing is that loading screens transitioning from space to planet and ground to space often take 10+ minutes and result in multiple server disconnects.
I'm still submitting my bug reports and trying to remain patient, but I can't help but feel that this is starting to feel like a paid beta.
There are those out here who are going to call me a troll (not true, look at all of my positive past posts) or claim that I didn't pay for this (also not true, head start was a pre-order incentive and a simple understanding of contracts law will clear up that claim).
I want to be constructive here and just hope that Cryptic has a response (if not a forthcoming solution) to this problem. It seems to me that the stress test days should be largely over and that these issues should be ironed out quickly and efficiently.
Thanks for all the hard work devs -- you've put together a great game. I just wish I could play it right now.
Yep you paid for the privilege to play during head start. You have every right to complain.
A few lucky people actually pre-ordered a non-downloadable version and can still cancel their pre-order, so Cryptic should be listening or they will lose money.

True... now time for some more emergency maintenance.
