If you're happy with the way things are going then great, move on and be happy.
There is no cause for all the berating of those who have every right to complain about the state of the game. It doesn't matter how many MMORPG launches we have or have not been through. It doesn't matter that (some) people haven't paid anything yet.
We have every right to complain. It should not be in this shoddy of a state so close to launch.
So please, have some maturity and courtesy and just leave people alone.
You may have the right to complain, but please complain about something other than server stability issues, especially when the game hasnt even released yet.
Every single MMO has had these problems, so if anyones coming into STO thinking it will be different then they are delusional, if this still keeps happening a week or so after release than yes complain all you want and ill probably be there with you, but until then, deal with it.

Actually, the game has launched. It is now in a "production" state. Open beta ended earlier this week. Head start is for those that pre-ordered. If the server is going down that reduces the benefit of that pre-order.
I think the DEV's deserve to hear both sides don't you?
Normal I guess, people complain and are loud about something when it's broke or just not going their way. When was the last time you called your cable company and thanked them for your TV being on when you came home from work or school? NEVER. You only call when it's broke.
I'm disappointed in the servers going down only because I don't have 20 hours/day to play this game, my times are extremely limited and infrequent. I'll take the positive attitude that things will get better in time.
So please, have some maturity and courtesy and just leave people alone.
And I had to stop here and laugh. Maturity and courtesy are the very things lacking in a lot of these complaint posts. Those of us who are firing back and rebuking the QQers/Whiners are doing so because people are making overly dramatic statements about what is essentially a pre-release game. It's best that all the bugs and hiccups get worked out now then on launch day. Even then I fully expect there to be some further wrinkle pressing and server maintenance weeks into full game play. People just need to sit back, relax, and enjoy the game when it's up. If it's really that bad then just stop playing.

look, maybe we havent been around that many launches. thats because i dont like MMOs. we were baited into this with the Star Trek tie in. now were here, nothing works, all it is is sitting around all day WAITING for a damn chance to play. ye, i havent "technically" paid anything yet. but i have committed to do so. if they had told me the servers wre going to be ready on th 2nd, i wouldnt be here complaining. CRYPTIC SAID it was available as a perk to us, the paying customer. now, i ive spent all day, now, less than 3 hours playing, and five hours and counting waiting.
if this is what MMO's are like, then that would be exactly why i dont typically play them.
It should not be in this shoddy of a state so close to launch.
If you can defend that claim, please do so. But that argument has been refuted at least a dozen times in this forum. That is, the claim that an MMORPG launch "should not" be like this is false. This is precisely what MMORPG launches are like, and this is so for fairly fundamental reasons.
Why do you think so many people will tell you not to buy a new version of Windows until the first service pack? People said that about XP, Vista, and 7 before those operating systems even released. And Microsoft beta tests its code more thoroughly than any MMORPG ever has or could afford.
Yes, this is how it will be, should be, and must be.
I have no problem with people who offer constructive criticism, or make complaints based off of realistic expectations.
However, trolls will be dealt with.
One of the few times I agree with Jedi.
Complaints are meaningless trollspeak if not constructive in some way. Repeating the same complaint that others already have countless times is also spam-worthy.

i thank them when i write them a check every month.
There is no cause for all the berating of those who have every right to complain about the state of the game. (True)
It doesn't matter how many MMORPG launches we have or have not been through.(False especially when they tend to point out how great other games with worse problems at launch run) It doesn't matter that (some) people haven't paid anything yet. (False if you have not paid then your still basically playing for free and have no real right to complain)
I have no right to complain. It should be perfect with no bugs or problems unlike every other mmo on the market at this point.
So please, have some maturity grow up and learn a thing or three before you complain.
i thank them when i write them a check every month.
like i WONT be doing for a sub.
Dang, now if you could maybe just extend those fingers a tiny bit further on the mouse buttons and thank Cryptic and us for a wonderful time by clicking on the CLOSE BROWSER button, we would be eternally grateful.
It diminishes the benifit of the head start. Yes, some of us already paid and preordered with this head start in mind. This is why there is frustration. I understand all the explanations, it's new, its not released, the cat ate their server, take your pick. I also understand being a tad upset that the benifit of head start is being lessened for many folks who might have not preordered without it.
I'm not quiting, i'm not whining, i'm stating fact. On the other hand, i played CoH for a long time and I found Cryptic responsive. Here's hoping that Sunday and Monday look better than Saturday. I would like to get some play time in before launch, maybe be out of the starter zones. That is after all the biggest benifit, beating he hordes.
I'm gonna go check the server, if that doesn't work i'll play Star Trek: the Message Board.
I'm not berating anyone, but there comes a time when you just have to deal with cold hard facts. The server maintenance obviously has to be done, bottom line.

Hmm...complaining about complainers complaining about complainers?
Maybe the complainers should leave the rest of us alone and not post?
*Goes off to make a new schedule.*

If you don't care why would you respond at all?

wheres the line for refunds?

The same reason the complainers are still playing STO, I would guess.
It's the way of the internet, particularly in a unmoderated forum.
i thank them when i write them a check every month.

99% of the childish complainers have 0 maturity, and 0 courtesy, i didn't find the OP's post objectionable at all.
But it's disgusting watching the forums loaded up with childish complaints, and expectations that have no
basis in what new game launches are like. So yes you have the right to complain, but most MMO forums
are a train wreck , hence why the majority of the players in that game avoid them like the plague.
So watching the forums turn into a place for entitlement and for morons to vent, ya it's gonna bother some
people. So your asking for the reverse behavior displayed in the majority of complaints, never gonna happen
I like this one! lol
There fixed it for you it looks much better now.

that sounds like a threat. The easiest way to avoid criticism is to provide a high quality product, or... offer communication.

again......................
To older generation gamers who have been in most of the major mmo launches, this thread is funny......
Does that mean we have the right to berate you for complaining? Free speech is a two-way street last time I checked.
This! Too funny indeed.
